About

I have worked in the City for 15 years as a commodities trader and finance professional.

In the day job I used maths, physics and business every day, programming advanced algorithms, pricing up large deals and adding up the coffee round. I’ve had the benefits of a good education and enjoyed being able to put it to use and love being able to pass this on to others.

In my career, I was normally the first choice for training up new recruits. Explaining complicated ideas and processes is something I have the patience and understanding for. I’ve done lots of reading and courses on how the brain works and learns which allows me to tailor an approach to learning,

My approach is based upon understanding your needs, goals and learning style. We can then develop a programme of learning together. There is no one-size fits all or magic approach to understanding maths or science. I like to start with making sure students really understand a concept and can explain it back to me.

I have been tutoring local students for 6 months from year 4 primary up to GSCE.
