My girlfriend and I dropped by Mark's studio for a quick portrait session and had an amazing time. As we walked in he told us something along the lines of "it's going to be magic. " Although I'm sure he was referring specifically to how the shots were going to turn out, the phrase might as well have applied to the experience as a whole. My wife and I had Mark come to our home to shoot some photos for a holiday card. Having given warning that our lighting isn't always the best for pictures, he happily brought one of his own. While se set up and got the lighting levels worked out, we chatted about our initial thoughts for styles/poses/locations, all of which he put us through marvelously. While Jess and I moved location and put on cheesy Christmas sweaters, Mark filled the time by grabbing a few candid photos of our cat, which he was nice enough to include in our set. When we went outside for a few shots, his suggestions on pose and tips for not looking artificial while walking worked well. All in all, we're super happy with the work he did, his laid back and pleasant personality, and insight about light, frame, and photo. I most definitely recommend working with Mark. My husband and I are both shy but Mark has made us feel comfortable enough to get great shots. We have worked with him twice and both times were enjoyable.The first time was for a last minute engagement session. He traveled to San Francisco to a location we had picked out. He quickly scouted some good areas and really helped us with posing. He took lots of candid shots. We were extremely happy with the pictures and we ended up using them for save-the-dates and our wedding gift table.More recently we went to his studio for Christmas card photos. It was easy to find and there was lots of street parking. Mark captured lots of great photos. He is extremely patient and professional. Both times he delivered photos to us in a timely manner.
