What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photo is to be patient, observe a family moment happening, a child playing and anticipate what might happen next. It's important to listen as well to be sensitive about people's moods and feelings at the time of the session. Then you have a chance of capturing a photo that truly reflects who your family really is.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I usually want to know who their family is (expecting client, family with a newborn baby or a numerous family) and what type of photos they're looking for. It's important my style, which is very natural and spontaneous, match what they're after. If they want traditional portrait photos, I may not be the one (although I'm happy to take a few formal photos during the session!) but if they want photos that shows them as they are with their personality and special relationship, I'll definitely be the photographer for them :-)
What do you love most about your job?
I love being part of a family's life for an hour or two. It's great that every family is different, which inspires me in my photography. Delivering photos to my client is a great feeling especially when I surprise them with photos that show special moments they didn't expect me to capture. I know I've done my job when I send photos I know my client will keep for a long time and show their children when they're older.

I will create photos that will capture the family's personality and special bond. I'm patient with children and I'll do my best to give families photos that they will love for years to come.
