The corner table near a closet was not ideal. The escargot was over powered by the mushrooms and sauce. The lamb was delicious. Unfortunately, they did not know how to make a French martini in a French restaurant. We probably won't go back. More...

I come here for the food—especially the seafood—and the martinis. I like the restaurant; I like the owner. I don't know the chef, but I certainly like what he prepares. The quality of food here deserves table cloths, better ambient lighting and more purposeful design: it is difficult to tell whether one has entered a cafe, a bar, or a diner. The rooms should be destinations deserving of the food, the quality of service and and the graciousness of the owner. More...

Fabulous food! Superb service! The delicious trout almandine was served with equally delicious risotto and asparagus. The duck salad consisted of mixed greens with goat cheese and crispy pieces of duck and a dressing that complemented all. Marie Louise Bistro has out of this world pastries to finish a perfect meal. The attentive server worked hard to make sure we were in time for our concert at the Meyerhoff. More...

Really enjoyed steak night (Tuesdays). Choice of 1 of 2 steaks. Substituted the potato and assigned vegetable for double Brussels Sprouts. Also they have happy hour from 4-8 with discount on drinks and appetizers. The old bay wings were great! Also house wines only $5 during happy hour which were good too. Service great! Seen it busier in the past. More...

I had the special scallop entrée - delicious. Risotto was very good. My date had the duck salad and the lamb chops which he said were excellent. The seasonal pear salad was very fresh. We shared an oreo cheesecake dessert. I chose the 3-course menu for only $45. The dining area was intimate and diverse. Loved it. Will definitely return to try some French favorites which Marie Louise Bistro is known for. More...

The special pear salad was outstanding. The scallops and risotto were delicious, but the portion was unreasonably small for a main dish (3 not so big scallops). The chicken and artichokes is a reliable and consistent choice. The pistachio chocolate creme brulee was a nice finish to our meal. Our server upstairs was also the bartender, so the service was somewhat inattentive. The food took a long time to come out, probably because the kitchen wasn't quite equipped to deal with the Meyerhoff lecture series crowd. More...

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal before catching a BSO Pops show at the Meyerhoff. I had a fresh and delightful pear and gargonzola cheese salad while my husband tried the Maryland crab soup, which was rich and almost sumptuous, so much more than your average crab soup which usually has a thinner consistency. I then had the lightly browned, pan fried scallops with asparagus and risotto which I loved while my husband had trout almondine, asparagus and risotto well. The food was so so good and the service was excellent. We will certainly be back for more next time we're in the city! More...

Recently we enjoyed lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Our hanger steak salads was really tasty, the meat was cooked to order and the price was reasonable. The service was attentive without being pushy. The only thing negative was the number of flies around our table (we were seated near the front window). Otherwise, we will definitely return. More...

We have always enjoyed dining at Marie Louise Bistro, but last night was SPECIAL. Why? The Bistro now is fortunate to have a new chef, Justin, whose cuisine is equal to that of any five-star restaurant. Our dinner was superb, and our server, Alex, was professional and caring. The Restaurant-Week menu was as good as any other time I've eaten there. Always, every plate is cooked or prepared to perfection. This time we had the trout and the duck, preceded by a pear and arugula salad and the foie gras, followed by tiramisu. All were very good to superb. Decent house pinot noir, too. And, as always, no who the bartender, one of the best gin martinis in town. If only the owner would improve the lighting (especially downstairs) with fewer or softer overhead lights and the acoustics—tablecloths would help; so would some area rugs. Then the ambiance would approach the quality of the food and the service. More...

As I took the 1st bite my eyes widen with pleasure. Since I could not finish my meal I was able to have it packaged for later. I did not Want to disappoint my host so I assured him that every single bite was perfect. For right now this will be my future Birthday spot to enjoy a very delicious meal and drink.
