Maria McCarn Photography

I hired Maria to take my wedding photos. The closer it got to the wedding the more unreliable and inflexible she became. She set up a time to tour our venue upon her request to see where we wanted photos. My family, wedding planner, and I rearranged that day to meet with her. Maria canceled last minute when I was already at the venue with my planner. Also my planner and I created a wedding schedule and shoot list. Maria disliked it and wanted us to add 2 more hours of photography to the 8 hours we had hired her for. For the two extra hours, she was wanting to take mock getting ready photos and mock cake cutting photos. My wedding planner and I did not see how mocking up these actions would be helpful in our schedule and opted not to do the additional 2 hours.


We made a final draft of the schedule, which was given to Maria ahead of time. She did not bring it to the venue on wedding day, and she would not take a copy of it from my wedding planner. This was not the first time that my wedding planner had tried communicating with her and Maria rejected her help. When she showed up to the venue she immediately gave attitude to my bridesmaids. She was grouchy, didn’t smile, and wasn’t pleasant to be around. I had sent Maria photos of certain poses that I wanted throughout the day. She didn’t even do half of them because she left her phone in the car and made no attempt to go get it. She is the one who told me to send them to her phone so she would have them that day on her. We had videographers there. She made it clear that she did not like them being there. She was rude to them and wouldn’t communicate at all with them through out the whole day. Did I mention that I hired her for 8 hours??! She complained the whole time in front of my family, bridal party, and me that they were there.

For our send off, we had a sparkler tunnel. My husband and I waited patiently at the top of the tunnel until Maria gave us the okay to start walking through. We stopped several times and shared slow kisses to make sure she got the shot. We WALKED twice through this tunnel. When we received the images we were surprised to see that we only had one send off photo and it was blurry and we looked drunk (which we weren’t). When we questioned her about it, she blamed it on us. Overall the rest of our images reflected the same kind of work. Lots of blurry pictures, people cut off, and missed shot opportunities.
