I had the pleasure of first meeting Manuela in 2013 when my brother-in-law hired her to photograph his wedding in Jamaica. I recall being surprised that he was willing to hire a Toronto-based photographer to shoot his Jamaican wedding when we lived in Edmonton, Alberta! Out of curiosity, I immediately looked her up and when I saw her body of work, I knew right away why he chose her. My brother-in-law's wedding photos were absolutely stunning. He and his wife also did a 'trash the dress' photo shoot the day after their wedding. The shoot involved horses and the ocean, and I can say that the photos are some of my most favourite images. There was such a magical and majestic quality to the photos. They took my breath away. And then last summer, when I found out Manuela was going to be in Edmonton for a project, I jumped at the opportunity to have her take our family and maternity photos. Manuela was such a delight to work with. Our three year-old daughter instantly fell in love with her! She is very professional, passionate and thoughtful. Her warm, gentle, and easy-going nature puts you at ease, which is so important when being photographed! We were so pleased with how our photos turned out. Manuela has a true gift for capturing those special moments that you'll want to cherish forever. I can't give her enough praise. My husband and I hired Manuela to photograph our engagement session and wedding, and we are so thrilled we made the decision to make her part of our vendor team! Manuela's work is of the highest quality. She delivered literally thousands of gorgeous shots from both our shoots (we even used one of our engagement photos as a framed "guest book" at the wedding and received many compliments). Working with her has been a dream - we first made contact in spring of 2016 to inquire about packages, and she has been hands-on and responsive all the way to the weeks following our June 2017 wedding. During the shoot, she offers great direction, and works tirelessly to get the perfect shot and angle. My usually camera-shy husband felt at ease with her, and members of my wedding party also commented on how efficient and thorough our post-ceremony shoot was. She had a very thoughtful and artistic approach, which we felt really distinguished our wedding photos from the other options we considered and gave them a personal touch. In the final album, she did a great job of telling the story of our wedding, showcased the venue that we chose and captured the essence of our day perfectly. I knew immediately that I chose the best photographer when I met with Manuela. She is very intuitive, and has an amazing eye for capturing special moments in any location. Manuela doesn’t need a back drop or fancy settings, she took my daughter outside and put her against the red brick of our house, placed us in front of a white garage door, used a simple wooden fence, her eye for possibilities is incredible. As soon as I got engaged, I knew that the most important aspect of my wedding would be to make sure all of our special moments were captured that day. I was looking for a photographer, but didn't really know what I wanted. A friend of mine referred me to Manuela. As I browsed her work on her website, I loved her artistic yet personal perspective. After our first contact, I knew. When Manuela and I met in person, we had an instant connection. Manuela captured every single special moment of my wedding and told a remarkable story through her photos. Her warm personality and exceptional talent make for an amazing, one-of-a-kind combination. It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop Manuela from getting creative and getting the most amazing shots of our day. We can't stop looking at our pictures! We chose not to get a videographer and after going through our beautiful pictures, it's as if she's captured all our moments on video, but in pictures!
