Had a 70th birthday party for my Mum we had our own room. Food and service was great and super value for money. Really understanding with kids. Thanks so much.

Visited for a weekend away, and I was very happy with the choice of hotel. It's an old building, with old style decor which gives it a lot of character. The room was spacious, we had a decent breakfast, and the staff were all very nice. Can't fault it, would stay again! More...

MY daughter and I visited Kilkenny recently as delegates to the Education Conference. We stayed at the Club house Hotel. This hotel has maintained a great reputation for hospitality down through the years. The staff were welcoming and most helpful. Our room was cosy and warm. We didn't dine at the hotel but I have happy memories of dining there almost thirty years ago with my mother on a journey from Dublin to Waterford.|| We enjoyed a well cooked breakfast served very promptly by an attentive waitress. The atmosphere was one of old world charm and relaxation. I phoned the hotel the following day to enquire about a small bag left in my room. I am very grateful to the kind receptionist who located the bag and arranged to have it posted to me immediately. I highly recommend this hotel and will most certainly stay there on my next visit to Kilkenny. More...

The Staff were lovely, old fashion Hotel, no lifts, just stairs, Breakfast was lovely even catered for my vegan daughter. The Hotel was a bit dark, bathroom old fashioned with curtain around the bath for a shower, but the water was hot and the room was clean . The bed was very comfortable. There was a Bar downstairs which served food.||||Great location just minutes from Kilkenny Castle.||The Kilkenny Food Festival was on that weekend, it was great, plenty of stalls with food & drink, even a choir singing at the Castle on the Sunday morning. Also great Perfume shop in Kilkenny where the mix the oils etc to match a perfume you can buy, definitely worth a visit.||||The Food vans were great, loads of choice for us, plenty of Vegan choices also. Booked this hotel for an overnight stay for my cousins wedding in Kilkenny. |I arrived early, as I only live in Cork, not expecting to get into my room but the receptionist checked to see if my room was ready and as it was allowed me access. This meant I could relax and get ready for the wedding in comfort. |Next morning the breakfast staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly. |After checkout the receptionist allowed me to leave my car in the car park while I did my messages and said goodbye to family. |I agree with most that hotel could do with updating but it has charm and the staff were exceptional. |Thank you More...

The other accommodation we had been looking to book in the town center was really not good. Accommodation in town was short, so we thought to move on to another village. We happened to walk past The Club and thought to walk in and ask on the off chance. We had coffee and pea & ham soup first. Good food, lovely dinning room, bar and lounge area. |One double room was available for 2 nights. We took it on the bases that from what we had seen everything was clean and the place was obviously well run. The hotel is old with lots of lovely features. I hope one day when it is renovated they keep most of these things. Our room was down a few corridors and up some short stair cases. Good size room, double and single beds.|It was perfect for our stay.|Don’t bother looking anywhere else in town to eat..we did and ended up back here for dinner. The food was amazing! Crispy skin duck on a bed of noodles, was so good. Hubby had the Lamb shank. This was the best dinner we have had in Ireland. Big call eh?! Will eat here again tonight.|Also the staff are wonderful.|Would not hesitate to stay again.| More...

First of all, don't stay here if you have accessibility issues. It's a 200 year old building with loads of stairs, which absolutely adds to its charm. My 66 year old mum wasn't a fan of the stairs but it didn't deter her from wanting to stay here. The Canadian receptionist is as wonderful and lovely as past reviewers have said! The rooms were well equipped with everything we needed and the breakfast was excellent! Didn't eat at the restaurant and only had a drink in the bar. Had a lovely time in Kilkenny and would absolutely recommend this hotel for its charm and location! More...

Parts of the building are atmospheric and historical - the breakfast room for instance. Elsewhere the building is a bit down-at-heel and could do with a make-up. The bedrooms in the newer wing are anonymous and blandly decorated, though clean and with a comfortable bed. More...
