Manage My Website offered creative ideas and suggestions which was really appreciated, oftentimes you might get help from someone who literally does what you ask, but if you, like me are limited by what you know and what you don't know is possible, a good idea looses the ability to become great, not so with this company. I've been a member for the most rewarding part of my career and I've always proudly promoted that I am a member! I do think, however that the association could do more in a practical way to help photographers, like pushing their members a bit more or finding photographer friendly airlines that recognise the AOP. Or what about a definitive statement from the US ambassador on the dos and donts of shooting in the US. And I'm very sad to see the Apple discount suddenly disappear! The UK has some of the best photographers in the world, many with the AOP and as an organisation it could do far more to promote that! More...

As a member for 30+ years I can say that the AoP is a great institution, and a mine of information and encouragement to photographers young and older. .. The essentials of photography as a business are laid out in their publication "Beyond the Lens", and seminars, exhibitions, workshops and lectures are frequent. The email Forum is a vital communication tool between members. Stranded on the other side of the world with a jammed camera? 5-10 minutes on the Forum and you're probably sorted. More...
