The most professional experience that I have ever had with a tattoo shop. William and the guys are all very personable and professional. It really helps that this place is cleaner than most of the restaurants some of us eat at. Just a very well oiled machine with insanely talented artists. Mike (shop mgr) is on point with keeping the process of arriving, getting through it and leaving smooth. The little things that you don't notice that keeps everything moving and efficient makes a big difference at the end. Mammoth is my 5th stop for tattoos and it will definitely be my last. Got a new tattoo (first in 20+ years) from DJ Chilcote a few days ago-he created the drawing of what I wanted (dogwood blossom) and did it beautifully! Reckon my review is long overdue. I've been Will's customer for going on 10 years now. He's a true artist and it's evident not only in his tattoos but other canvas' he works with. Back when I first started getting tattooed by him, I gave him a tangible image, which he belted out in all it's brilliance.
From that point on, our work together has evolved to something I wouldn't have equated to tattoos, the artists and the culture in general. These days, regrettably too long since my last session, I'll talk about intangible concepts such as emotions, or experiences, etc. William takes my conversations and creates artwork from that. We have a mutual trust and in that, he's able to free hand the tattoo and it always turns out as something more than I could think of. His work is smooth and we normally book a whole day. I can't say enough about artistic talent but it's way more than that. For me, it's a day spent hanging out in a mellow place with a hell of a good person who can lay down sweet tattoos. Yes! I came to meet DJ Chilcote highly recommended from a friend/coworker who has several amazing tattoos from him. I set up an appointment for a consultation to brainstorm over my many ideas. From the beginning he was friendly and professional. I sincerely appreciated his honesty and suggestions on how he could create what I was looking to achieve. My whole experience most definitely exceeded above and beyond my expectations.
I highly recommend DJ to anyone who asks about my amazing tattoo he created for me and I seriously can't stop constantly gawking at it with such huge appreciation- especially for his talent! DJ Chilcote is the man to talk to for anything. Super clean work, Superb artistry, and overall good guy. I am currently two, four hour sessions deep into a sleeve and DJ has provided above par work.

All in all, Mammoth American is a really great place to go or even start looking when it comes to tattoos. The whole shop has a very welcoming and light vibe to it unlike other shops I've been to. All the work on the walls and other art done by the artists of the shop is amazing. Also, their Pandora station selection is top notch. ��

I love this shop! William designed an amazing chest piece for me and the tattoo is beautiful! He is a top-notch professional, incredibly talented and takes obvious pride in the service he provides. Jesse is making my dream of a Wendy Darling/Neverland tattoo a reality, and I couldn't be happier about his design and results thus far. He exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to finish the color! Matt's work is also superb, as evidenced by my husband's bad-ass Star Wars back piece in progress. I highly recommend Mammoth. After months of trying to get an appointment with various other shops for touching up an old tattoo and getting a new one, I decided to take a chance on a walk in one Saturday here at Mammoth. The old and new tattoo were both very simple and not larger than a couple inches. Hunter at the front door could not have been more friendly and inviting, especially for someone like me with very minimal tattoo experience :). He let me know that Chad would be able to fit me in later that afternoon, and I'm so glad he did! Chad was just as nice and professional. He seemed genuinely enthusiastic about my little tattoos and took extra care and time to make sure they were just right. I really appreciated the welcoming atmosphere as well as all of the upfront information about how serious the shop takes keeping everything clean and sterile. Thank you Hunter and Chad! William the owner has 25yrs in, and you can see it in his work, and how the shop is run as well.   All artists here are high caliber, and cool down to earth people.  I've had only positive experiences getting tattooed here.  Pictures on instragram can't give you any idea of personalities or experience which to me at least, is a big part of it.  These are good people, and it's clear how they treat everyone who comes in. William Thideman is a tattoo God. I started my back piece with him yesterday and it is amazing. I completely gave up control and let him create the start of a magnificent work of art on my entire back. I am so happy I decided to go with him. I can not wait to schedule another appointment! William Thidemann tattooed a northern cardinal on my chest and it was a great experience. Though I'd been tattooed before, I was still fairly nervous but William quickly put me at ease each session. He has a professional demeanor, valued my time and always made sure I was comfortable. His shop is very warm and welcoming, and the caliber of artists on hand is nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely fantastic studio. William is my artist and I couldn't be more pleased. I've been working with him for a couple years now on a sleeve and at this point I trust him completely. I used to bring in pictures of ideas but now we just talk about it and I let him do what he sees. This is a very cozy studio in an old house and you get tons of privacy, you're not in a little both. William and Matt, another incredible artist at the studio have their own rooms upstairs which I really appreciate. If you're looking for true custom artwork this is the premier spot in Denver. Almost hate to review it for fear of a long wait list but these guys deserve the praise! More...
