We were recently visiting Savannah, GA when our tour guide mentioned an ice cream shop we had to try in town called Leopold's - the third best ice cream in the world (behind one in France and another in Italy). We love Mama Bird’s whether it’s after school, during the weekend or just anytime. I really appreciate how they make our lives easy. During the teacher appreciation week, I wanted to get my teachers gift cards and messaged them since I knew they were closed that day. The owner told me to go the the store and someone will be there. Luckily for me, someone was working and making more ice cream and was able to sell me some gift cards. Instead of turning me down and saying to come back when they are open, they granted my request with a smile. Great service as always! Thank you! More...

We always look forward to a trip to Mama Bird’s when visiting our family in Holly Springs. We like to say we do everything bigger and better in Texas, but I have to admit with Mama Bird’s North Carolina has us beat. Mama Bird’s is my family’s absolute favorite place to go for ice cream! They have some of the most unique flavors that are unlike anything you can find elsewhere. I mean where can you find fresh baked pies folded into the most delicious ice cream you have ever had? Bananas foster, apple pie and holy cannoli, biscotti and traditional favorites like stracciatelli are just a few of my personal favorites! When you walk in the door you can immediately smell the homemade waffle cones and fresh baked cookies. If I could eat here every day, I absolutely would! I met the owners last Saturday during a Bridal Expo. My booth was just beside them. I tried the caramel and also the espresso. Wow, it was absolutely delicious! I felt like I was in Europe eating high quality ice cream!!! You can really tell they use quality ingredients!!! Such a nice couple. My customer service pet peeve is sweet shops with humdrum employees. There are sweets to be had and that is fun and exciting! Mama Bird’s gets it. We visited this evening and were welcomed warmly and offered assistance and tastes right away. The employees were friendly throughout the transaction and wished us well as we left. We had Mama Bird's cater our dessert at our wedding last weekend, and I still say it was my favorite part of the whole night! My husband and I aren't cake people, but love ice cream! Lesley sat with us through a tasting (lots of ice cream!) and helped us pick from over 100 flavors and fresh cookies to create 6 perfect ice cream sandwiches (large scoop of ice-cream between 2 homemade cookies!) with freedom to create whatever we imagined! Her husband brought the cutest ice cream cart to set up at our venue and served all of our guests the ice cream of their choice. I looked over at the cart at one point in the night and there were guests lined up patiently waiting- you never see guests at weddings in line for the dessert! Lesley made my husband and I our own specific cookie sandwich dipped in chocolate with Mr. & Mrs. written on it for our "Ice cream cutting?" It was delicious! One of my neighbors has been here before and highly recommended it. For a treat today, we drove down from Apex to get some ice cream. This ice cream shop is astoundingly delicious. For me I was so stoked they had two vegan ice cream options that were not sorbet. Chocolate and cookie butter. And yes, the cookie butter was as amazing as you could possibly expect it to be.
