I have done my makeup several times with Malia in the last 3 years, and recently done my hair with her as well. Malia is incredibly talented and the best in the game in the DMV! She listens to her client and will give you the look you are wanting to achieve. Malia is phenomenal!!! She did my trial and I was impressed. However, when she did my actual makeup for my wedding, I was speechless. She is very calm, listens to her clients and understands well their needs. She is also so sweet and friendly. My makeup was gorgeous and it lasted for more than 12 hours. Malia got back to me right away after I had left a voicemail on her cell. She also moved up the time of one of her regular clients in order to accommodate me because I had an early morning event. Her studio is in her home, but it's absolutely so chic and professional. She is flexible about a look you want her to create or with you giving her free reign. I gave her free reign and my look came out GORGEOUS. Yes the makeup she does is heavy, but what's the point of paying for a makeup artist for a natural look? Anyways it's all about preference. The makeup she does is NOT outdated by any means. She does excellent contouring and beautiful eye shadows. She even created a lip color perfectly suited to my skin tone and outfit.
