Five stars isn't enough for Malaya! I found Malaya's listing on Craigslist. My fiancé and I were in a bind because our original photographer cancelled on us and wasn't responding to our texts. My fiancé and I are a long distance couple so we plan our trips way in advance. He was coming October 11th weekend because we planned to do our court marriage on October 15th. We had less than two weeks to find a photographer who was available on the days he was here. I reached out to a few photographers but Malaya stood out. Her amazing personality showed even through emails. We booked her for our engagement shoot and court marriage ceremony. Her pricing was very affordable! Malaya loved our ideas and locations and even included her own. She suggested a location that required some hiking. My fiancé Jason joked we got a two for one deal, a photographer and personal trainer! However the views were absolutely breathtaking and we didn't mind that we almost passed out and slipped a few times. LOL On Tuesday Oct 15th Malaya took our court marriage photos at SF city hall. Our family loved her as much as we did! Malaya was punctual, patient, directed us where to stand/look and after looking at the photos I'm so glad she did! The photos are even more beautiful than we imagined!! Malaya, Jason and I want to thank you so much once again for your professionalism, friendliness and being so accommodating. We are so happy our original photographer cancelled on us because we got a way better one! Malaya is awesome! She photographed our proposal and we are so excited how the photos came out! Malaya was very easy to communicate with and gave great suggestions for the exact spot to get down on one knee. She was very professional and gave great guidance to make us feel less awkward. Amazingly fast turnaround, she was able to provide a few images the same day (for social media) and over 30 images within 48 hours (unheard of in photography based on my experience). We could tell from our email exchanges leading up to the photoshoot that she was very personable, kind and very professional. Fast forward to the shoot--the entire session was a breeze. With her patience, sense of humor and easy-to-follow direction, Malaya made us extremely comfortable the entire time.We didn't have to wait long to see the final results--and they were FANTASTIC! I just finished a couples shoot with Malaya and couldn't be more happy. The photos were just what I wanted, she made us feel extremely comfortable and was very easy to work with. Her prices were very reasonable ($300 for 2 hours of shooting time and over 30 touched up /edited photos) and her turn around time getting me back the album was less than 48 hours! What?! What do you love most about your job?
Meeting new people, capturing genuine love, and making others feel comfortable and absolutely beautiful.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Ever since I was a little girl I would play around with cameras; it became a relaxing and creative outlet as I grew older. After working in the corporate world for 10 years I realized that there was something more out there for me. One day I realized that my passion was truly photography and that I love helping people so the following day I walked into my corporate job and quit. I haven't looked back since!
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I'm passionate and I care about my couples. I love working WITH my couples to figure out their ideal photo session and the ability to give them that special day or two that they can look back on forever.

Yes and No, but I do love jumping on a quick initial call or Zoom to get to know my couples!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
At this time I am doing Outdoor-only sessions. If you are booking for weddings I test beforehand. I also comply with Social Distancing and wear a mask at all times.
