If you haven't seen it yet, you don't know what you're missing. Some of the best acting you will ever see in Pittsburgh. Go prove me wrong and tell me why I was wrong...... More...

Great urban-contemporary theatre is alive and generously providing programming to a solid, socially diverse fan-base while it constantly delivers affordable and meaningful art to its too often neglected and under-served local African-American audience. PPTC should be seen as a model of how a good community-based professional theater company can serve several audiences and somehow avoid the fate so many worthy contemporaries have suffered in recent years. Thank you to Mark Clayton Southers. More...

Just got home from opening night for Miss Julie, Clarissa and John. The show was fantastic! The play was a rich, historical experience of three people caught in the chaos of post-Civil War Virginia. Each of the actors gave great performances. The stage craft, lighting and sound were outstanding. Thank you, Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company for a spectacular night out in Pittsburgh! More...

Just saw 'Miss Julie, Clarissa and John' at Greenside as part of Edinburgh Fringe. Wonderful play, directed well and fantastic acting. Took a chance as hadn't heard anything about it and so glad we did. Not many plays like this at the Fringe this year if you want a solid drama. Really recommend seeing it. Well done to cast and team. I saw Pittsburgh Playwrights production of "Miss Julie, Clarissa, and John" last night at the Edinburgh Festivals. It was a beautifully written, superbly acted, and poignantly directed show. What a show to see in the midst of all of the horrific acts in #Charlottesville this week. Looking forward to visiting Pittsburgh to see more of what this extraordinary company can do. More...

I was very fortunate to be able to see the last night of Hercules Didn't Wade in the Water. The actresses and actors were awesome. They did an amazing job as did Wali Jamal as director. I really liked how the news clips were incorparated. The seats and theatre were comfortable too. More...

King Hedley II was a fantastic production, don't miss it! It doesn't get any better than seeing an August Wilson play in the backyard of his childhood home! PPTC is a Pittsburgh treasure (national really). I've been coming to their productions since the days in the space in the garage and every single play that I saw was a gem. Thanks to Mark Clayton Southers and the fantastic group of playwrights, actors and others that he has brought together. More...
