I am a dog owner and enthusiast and I work full-time with dogs, providing a boutique residential training service and one-to-one training with owners and their dogs. I am an Associate member of the Pet Dog Training Instructors (that means I'm quite good at teaching people how to train their dogs) and a signatory to the Registration Council for Dog Training and Behaviour Practitioners (this means I'm very professional and accountable).

Maeve is caring, patient and professional with our dog, Cracker. Cracker is always a bit wary of new humans joining her pack but has taken a deep liking to Maeve and Buster. The bond they have is obvious to see and that gives me great confidence that Cracker is in safe, friendly territory whenever under Maeve’s care. Added bonus that Maeve is friendly, flexible and is on hand for those late notice extra dag-care duties when they crop up. I can highly recommend Maeve’s Dog Walking. Our naughty, 10 year beagle can be a handful and not many people are happy to let him off the lead. Maeve handles him perfectly, he loves going out with her and hasn’t run off (yet!) so she obviously knows how to handle him better than I do! When our longstanding dog walker retired at the end of last year, we were pretty worried about finding a suitable replacement, since Pebbles (German pointer) is now thirteen, and quite opinionated - she definitely knows who she likes and who she doesn’t!
Fortunately she took to Maeve straight away, and is always really pleased to see her. Maeve has been walking Pebbles for a few months now, and has been great - flexible on times/dates, and providing a very personal service: she has really taken the time to get to know Pebbles. She also sends reports and pictures of what they have been up to on their walks, which is reassuring (and sometimes quite amusing!). We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Maeve’s services.

What do you love most about your job?
I've wanted a dog since I was a little girl - I used to take imaginary dogs for pretend walks in the park! Now, at 43, my dream has come true and I get to spend my days playing, running and training with dogs.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I remember how nervous I felt the first time I left my own dog in someone else's care. I nearly cried! That's why I promise to take the utmost care of your beloved pup, treating them as if they were my own.
Why should our clients choose you?
Does your dog pull on the lead, jump up on people, not answer to their name or something else? I can help to correct all these undesirable behaviours using positive reinforcement and fun-based training. Your dog will receive the mental stimulation it needs as well as a jolly good walk! ?
Dog Training
I provide one-to-one coaching for dog owners. This is different from training your dog for you. Sessions last one hour and will take place at your home, in a local park or other mutually agreed location, such as a private field. I mainly work with pet dog owners that need help with obedience and manners. I have a particular interest in gun dog breeds, especially labradors and spaniels.
