This used to be a reasonable local business in past, post COVID customer service has declined significantly. Firstly, local delivery of mulch was previously free, now they have imposed additional charges for local delivery. Secondly, they used to refund £5 per bag returned following mulch delivery. We recently had a delivery, and I rang to enquire for the same today. I was told they don't charge for the bag, and don't offer £5 refund for returned bag, so I can throw the bag anywhere or retain it. The statement that they have not charged for the bag seems beggars belief, and not encouraging bag returns for reuse proves disconnect from a sustainable green business model. More...

Cannot recommend the topsoil - BUYER BEWARE. Madingley Mulches description of their topsoil product states: "It is a heavy grade garden soil and may contain some stones. " I would gladly accept stones in my families lawn but not glass and ceramic shards. Recommend updating the description or screening the topsoil. Disgusted. More...

OWNER never replied to a complaint where a driver did not deliver goods as directed. Luckily very kind young man who works at the desk helped me out in his own time.

Been going to Mad Mulch for years.Always very helpful and willing to load your car or look busy.As well as bulk mixed cement or large or small amounts of aggregates they also stock top/sub soils,turf etc with an excellent little hardware/garden products shop. Good place to buy soils, composts, bark, decorative stone etc., both in big bags for lorry delivery or ones you can take home.
Good prices, friendly & helpful staff and a shop stocked with all manner of gardening, decorating and DIY tools & equipment. A step above the usual run of these places.
Always worth a visit. Good parking, though enter the yard with your car only if invited by staff to pick something up as there's a lot of lorry activity with goods being loaded for delivery.

They sell gravel and rocks for your garden plus peat and fertiliser. In the shop they sell diy and garden tools, diy bits like screws nails and raw plugs and wall fixing. I would definitely call in at Madingley Mulch rather than driving further to a large diy store. More...
