Mackworth House Farm

The welcome was excellent Mark carried the bags to the room. Breakfast was great could not fault it. Had some cakes made by Mark and they were as good as a top class restaurant. Could not fault this B&B.

Excellent as always.Never fails our expectations.Would recommend this place to everyone wishing to visit Derby and the Peak district city is minutes away despite the lovely rural location wildlife abounds in the adjacent fields.

The hosts make this stay so perfect, we arrived late at night but they were still so friendly to see us. Breakfast was great, with lots of nice coffee and attention to details I would happily stay here for longer!

Thank you to the chaps (and dogs) for making Lottie and us so welcome at your stunning farmhouse in this pretty, peaceful village. Attention has been paid to every detail to make staying here relaxed and comfortable. Our bedroom was huge and looked on to the pretty garden and over to the thatched house across the lane. We were able to choose our breakfast time and the vegetarian breakfasts were delicious, everything freshly prepared. We hope to come back soon and hear the Wurlitzer organ played while we dine! I booked the B&B for 2 couples as it seemed good value for money and was close by to Derby where we were going that evening to a gig. |From our arrival we were made very welcome and felt right at home. |As my boyfriend & I arrived first, we had the choice of rooms. Our turquoise room was lovely with great decor and plenty of space. We left the amethyst room for our friends as I knew they’d love it....which they did. |The bed was really comfy and there was lots of room for clothes and other bits. |We came back late that night and were warmly greeted and ordered our breakfast. |After a good nights sleep we had a full english breakfast (£7.50) which was delicious. Friendly place, owner went above and beyond and seemed like nothing was to much trouble. He had thought of the little extras such as robes, putting a fan on in the room to cool it down ready for our arrival, personalised information leaflet. Unbeknown to me there are two hotels in Mackworth with similar names and I booked this hotel in error. Hidden down a country lane, this hotel is a gem. I was welcomed by Peter and Mark to their home.
