We hired MJB as our wedding photographer in 2009 at the Orpheum. The pictures turned out AMAZING!!! Still blown away by some of the angles and cherish his creativity. I can't say enough good things about M.J.B. Photography. Operating under a very short timeframe for my son's Senior Pictures, Mike found a way to fit us into his shooting schedule quickly, then turned around the portfolio in less than a week.

And oh, the pictures! Nothing "cookie cutter" about his work; you'd be hard-pressed to find duplicates of his poses and settings from any other studio. He even incorporated suggestions I had. I greatly appreciate originality, and he definitely embraces it. I used Mike for my son's senior pictures last year and they turned out great. I love Mike's eye for detail. I still kick myself for not having him do my wedding. Last month we went in for family pictures. My group of 9. Once again Mike did an amazing job. He worked well with kids and I especially love that when he did just me and my hubby he captured the story of us and you can see and feel our love in the pictures. Mike was great! We've used him a few times over the last couple of years. My husband and I booked him for our wedding and he gave us a great deal on our engagement shoot too. My family used him again this past weekend to take family photos. There were 35 of us and we were done sooner than we expected!
Mike was awesome at the wedding. He thought of pictures and positions that we never would have and he always had ideas for us. He was extremely professional, as well as friendly.
For the family photos, Mike was just wonderful, again. We had several small children and didn't know how it was going to go; but again, he was great. He suggested we write out the different photos we wanted so we wouldn't forget, and it's a good thing we did. He, again, had some great ideas for us to try and was very professional. He even got the crying baby to smile :)
Again, I can't say enough wonderful things about the experience we had and the quality of photos! We will never use another photographer besides Mike! More...

We had already looked at a couple of photographers when we met with Mike... it was pretty immediate we wanted to go with him. What endeared me so much about him as not just a photographer, but as someone who CARED about his potential clients. He encouraged us to look at other photographers. He said the most important thing was for us to be comfortable with someone that we paid to take photos of memories we will have forever. He really does care about what his clients feel and want. For him to care enough to know that the event we wanted him for was that important to us, even if it meant going to someone else... said a lot about him and his character. He took his craft seriously and really wanted his clients to be represented in his photos the best way possible. If you are looking for someone who is easy going, laid back and wanting your experience to be as natural as possible.... this is your guy. It is unfortunate a couple of posters may have felt their experience was bad. He always was upfront and honest with us, but never in a rude or harsh manner. He got moments at my wedding we missed and I appreciate that. He really captured who we are as a couple and the wonderful day that was our wedding. The photos came out beautiful. The time he spent on each one to make sure any blemishes were fixed and edited them seamlessly made them even better and worth it. His prices were INCREDIBLY reasonable. He really does work with you financially. For engagement, wedding (6 hours) and all our copyrights it was around $1600. Worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. Had Mike at our wedding in July and just got the pictures back and my wife and I are very pleased with the results. Prior to the wedding I wasn't sold on the idea of a professional photographer but I'm glad she pushed for one. That's because after comparing the photo's he took (at least 400) to the 400 or so that family has posted online so far, I can seriously see the difference. Not only is the quality better but there are pictures of things that no guest thought to take a picture of (like the sand ceremony before and after). He also took what seemed at the time to be weird angled shots of things like the dress but my wife was thrilled when she saw them. Plus, he was the only one that was taking pictures the whole time, everyone else was busy getting ready before hand to think about it too much. I definitely have already recommended him to some friends and plan to utilize him for other events (like family pictures after we have kids). Totally worth it. More...
