My partner and I booked an afternoon tea for ourselves and a friend for her birthday yesterday.We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table which had been prepared. ||Our hot drinks orders was taken and we were asked if we would like to start those first or have our afternoon tea bought straight away.We opted for the afternoon tea and an impressive looking three tier cake stand with freshly prepared sandwiches and a lovely selection of miniature cakes arrived.||Throughout the afternoon we were well looked after by attentive ,happy staff,who clearly wanted to ensure our afternoon was enjoyable and they genuinely seemed to embrace the jobs they were doing.||Thank you to each one of them.||We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and look forward to returning at some time. We stayed for the night here after our wedding. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. The food is absolutely excellent. As a result of this stay we have been back on many occasions just for the food alone. After 6 visits we have never been disappointed but on the contrary this is our favourite restaurant. Yesterday I was party of a wedding that was hosted at the Lysses hotel. All guests submitted their meal options months in advance to help with a smooth execution of the Wedding Breakfast on the day. Baskets of bread rolls were brought round to the tables as 2 of the 3 starters on the menu were soups- Tomato & Vegetable ( and then the other option was prawn). However a lot of people were being brought out a tomato & mozzarella salad which was a bit confusing. I myself cannot eat tomatoes so was really surprised when the plate was put in front of me. It seemed apparent pretty quickly a mistake was made somewhere along the line and the tomato soup translated to tomato salad on the day - note, I did not order tomato soup at all, and definitely chose Vegetable. After a quick discussion with the Bride & Groom the staff quickly rectified the mistake and made up tomato soup which was then brought out to the correct guests, and I too got the vegetable soup I originally asked for. I must say the vegetable soup was super tasty and I really enjoyed it. It was very green which was nice as in the past vegetable soup has been beige in colour and not very flavoursome. For the main I ordered the Chicken dish which turned out to be a roast chicken dinner. The portion of chicken was really generous and had I known it'd be so large I wouldn't have enjoyed 3 bread rolls prior to this! I found the vegetables a little hard and didn't enjoy the potatoes but the chicken it's self was lovely. The dinner was served with lattice salted crisps which were a little weird, pleasant but a bit random! Finally I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake which I found to be more like a mousse texture but was still nice, however when trying my friends profiteroles I instantly proffered her dessert. We had a really comfy stay at this clean friendly Hotel that made us very welcome. The room was spacious and the bathroom luxurious. The country hotel style has a pretty garden and was convenient for Fareham town centre centre a short walk away. We drove into Portsmouth in 20minutes and enjoyed all the city'sights. We shall stay at Lysses said "Lizzies" again soon. More...

The level of customer service, quality and experience we received in helping to organise our family wedding was truly outstanding. ||This is a great gem in the middle of Fareham with good quality rooms and excellent food. As hotel guests as well as wedding hosts we were very impressed with all the staff we came into contact with. A great effort was made to ensure the smooth running of the whole wedding event. In the Pre planning both Becky & Clive Wright Food & Beverage Director we’re totally professional but at the same time approachable. They could not of been more helpful. They asked what I wanted & the history behind the Town Woman’s Guild, to totally under stand what the Guild was about & what would make it really special. They offered suggestions, that did just that made it special.||I asked Clive for a suggestion for the menu. The ladies from Fareham West Afternoon Guild, Portchester Evening, Whitely, Petersfield, Cosham Central, Bridgemary Gosport all thought it was brilliant.||The food was excellent with 3 choices to choose from for starter & main & 4 for desert. ||The service on the night was also excellent & the ladies all commented on the beautiful atmosphere of the evening. ||We all agreed on the the night & since that it was an excellent meal & service from Nicky, Clive & all the staff at the Lysses House Hotel Thank you very much. ||The two lads in the picture are from a local School who played guitar for the ladies arriving.||It was a very special night to remember. ||I organised the night & I could not of found a more helpful team of people, who helped me throughout & the feedback from the 60 + ladies could not of been better for the food, service & place to celebrate our 90th Birthday ||Thank you. ||Davina Fareham West Afternoon Guild & representative on the East Hants Federation of the Town Woman’s Guild. +Very comfortable, great price and location, the bed was perfect we had a good nights sleep, room very clean.. -The shower although good was fixed at an angle and the shower curtain didn’t fully close so the water went all over the floor.
