Lyka was really amazing. Our son turned 6 months and it was time to get professional photos taken! Lyka was amazing to work with from the planning process to the photo delivery. She helped suggest the location and on the day of the shoot brought an extra prop for us to use. She knew exactly what to do to make our son smile and that's really what made the difference with all the beautiful photos we ended up with. She delivered the final edits way earlier than we were expecting them and couldn't have been more happy with the end result. This post is a little late, but having a newborn brainwashes you to forget things! Where do I begin?! I was referred to lyka by a family member. Lyka was so patient with my daughter! She was only 10 days old when she had her photoshoot. She had the cutest props and was well prepared for anything my daughter was going to throw at her, including peeing on her hand! Lyka stayed professional and just laughed it off! She is the most patient photographer I have ever met! And this is especially important for newborns as they can get fussy real quick. She didnt mind me feeding her in the middle of the session and didnt complain about the difficult prop I brought! She is overall amazing and I highly reccomend her to anyone. Lyka is amazing!!! Super patient with kids, big groups, and totally accommodating! We had a large family shoot in honor of my grandmother's 92nd bday. 4 generations! She was super flexible, great with eliciting smiles, and got all the shots we wanted. Lyka got our photos to us way before anticipated and we are happy with every picture she captured. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photo is chemistry. Chemistry between the photographer and the subjects and the chemistry between the subjects themselves. When everyone is comfortable around each other and is having fun, it shows in the photos.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are you trying to accomplish in this photo session? What are you going to use it for?
I ask these questions so I know what directions I can give them and so I can serve them more.
What do you love most about your job?
It sounds cliche coming from a children's photographer, but I love kids. I love their energy and being around them. I love being part of something that will create and capture memories for their families!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been surrounded by entrepreneurs my whole life, it has been ingrained in my system.
