I always come here and get the red velvet waffle with chicken. I go here often for brunch and it's always packed but the food is always good. My fave spot for brunch

LuLu's is a great spot for brunch, but I am sad to say it may have lost a bit of its charm the last time I went... and that's because of the food. We had a reservation for 7 on a Sunday at 10:45am. We failed to let them know we had two infants in tow. The hostess was very accommodating and helped make it work in no time. The restaurant was fairly busy, but still a good amount of tables available.I did not catch the name of our waiter (tall, dark brown hair with a beard... I know that may not help), but he was really efficient and kind. I ordered a jalapeño Bloody Mary and it had the perfect amount of twang and spice to it. I went with what I normally order for my entree which is the Shrimp & Stone-Milled Pimento Grits with a biscuit. Our food came out in no time and it all looked delicious. I wish I could say the same as to how my food tasted. It seemed a bit bland. My boyfriend who had the chicken and biscuit, says that  everything tasted the same from the potatoes, chicken, gravy, biscuit as if everything had the same seasoning.The portions are fantastic and everything is plated very well. So last Sunday my friend and i decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed by any means. We called in for a reservation and when we got there we were seated immediately which was awesome. Super nice hosting staff, btw. The menu wasn't super complicated or long but there was enough options to make me want to stay. We both wanted to try new things so ordered and split the Atlantic Omelette and the Chicken+Waffles. It was AMAZING! Red velvet isn't my favorite but those waffles HIT! The omelette had crab meat and mixed with the hollandaise sauce, perfecto! We came on a Sunday for brunch and this place was packed. All the tables were taken and even all the seats at the bar. Good thing we had reservations, some people were waiting and was told they had people with reservations until about 1pm. The music was loud and it was hard to have a conversation with people on your party, vibe was busy and packed. We dubbed it 'boozy brunch vibe'The hostess took us to our table all the way in the back past the restrooms. It was a lot quieter on this side and not as crowded. When we sat down our server greeted us and got our orders fairly quickly.  We got the Atlantic, corned beef hash and the red velvet waffles for the kiddos. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. The food was good although our entrees could've used some toast. The kids enjoyed their food as well. The red velvet waffles cake with fresh strawberries, cream and syrup. The kids enjoyed it. The Atlantic was good too and came with lots of cheese. I took a bite from my husbands food and the mozzarella cheese kept going and I pulled my fork toward me. Great!!! Brunch place. They are pretty well known for their Red Velvet Waffles, and let me tell you, they do NOT disappoint! So delicious and really good to share with the table. It's a little too big/too sugary to eat for a one person meal. Love the atmosphere of this place too -- the decor is interesting and fun! Please read my amazing review about this amazing brunch restaurant!!! It's the day after a night of drinking and of course the first thing I want is food. I check out yelp and fell in love with LuLus reviews, menu and of course mamosas. The place took reservations and I didn't have one but the bar was pretty large so it was easy for me to grab a spot. The bartender was an amazing! I'm sure she was the manager but she was a very sweet lady and made great conversation. I ended up getting the mamosa pitcher with my friend and it was amazing! More champagne than OJ so I was happy. My friend ordered the the Huervos Ranchero with shrimp and I ordered the red velvet waffles & chicken. My dish cake with a side of eggs and sausage gravy. I am not a fan of sausage gravy but OMG please get the gravy, it was delicious. The food was delicious!!! The only thing I didn't like was the waffle, the flavor was good but the texture did not please me. Overall the place was amazing and would recommend a brunch first date or a family breakfast. This is a nice spot for brunch. It looks like it gets really busy so I would recommend getting there early or making reservations. The server was a little flaky and failed to follow up with us. We also had to remind her about items we ordered which were not brought to the table. The food was pretty good. I had the chicken and red velvet waffles. I've had better chicken and waffles before but it was a new spin on it which was fun. We also had the shrimp and grits. It was very runny so I'm not sure what that was all about. When I saw the pics of the velvet waffles on their page, I thought it was a hoax. I had to go to LuLu's to see this first hand for myself. There was no wait and the staff was very friendly.  It's a small cute restaurant in the upcoming shock bottom of Richmond, VA. I finally put my order in. The mimosa was ok. I received my food very quickly with a wait of no more than 10 minutes or less. I finally received my Red Velvet Waffles. I do not like strawberries but they had a strawberry mix sauce on the waffles that taste like HEAVEN!  The waffles came with maple syrup and cream cheese sauce on the side.  The RED VELVET WAFFLES ARE MAGICAL!! If I died today..my tummy would be truly satisfied with this being my last meal on earth!  The RED VELVET WAFFLES ARE AMAZING!! They were soft, moist and very flavorful!! Lulu's is one of my favorite places to brunch in the Richmond area. My go to is the Atlantic omelette! There aren't many places that you can get lobster & crab in an omelette for a decent price. The mimosa pitchers are super strong however, I do think the prices are a little to high. One glass is $8! I haven't had bad service the time that I've eaten there. And employees are always pleasant. I do recommends that you make reservations prior to arrive especially if you have a big party. It's a small restaurant, so to alleviate wait time that would be your best option. More...

It was eight dollars for a single mimosa and they didn't have a bottomless options so if you're going to brunch for food and drinks I wouldn't recommend this place but if you're just interested in good food, you can definitely try lulus. The Atlantic omelette was delicious but my friend who ordered the same meal barely got any lobster and crab. Mine was overloaded with meat which I loved. The food did take a while to come out which gets them 4 stars. The biscuit was a bit dry and my son said he preferred the McDonald's biscuit. I really wanted to order the chicken and biscuit entree but it was SO much food. To my surprise, I could basically order the same entree minus the massive amount by getting a side of gravy, a biscuit and a fried chicken breast. The gravy was delicious!!! Super creamy and flavorful, with a little spicy kick to it. I loved it, but the amount they gave was disappointing. It wasnt even enough for half of the biscuit. The fried chicken was seasoned well but it was a little dry. The biscuit was good. I like that they toasted it a little so it was able to hold up against the gravy and chicken.Now when it comes to reservations, they have got A LOT to work on. We had a 12:30 reservation but didnt get seated until 1:05. There is absolutely no where to stand, so everyone is just squished into a tiny little area where you can see the stress on the hostess' faces. It was heartbreaking to see people continuously going up and getting an attitude with this poor girl over and over again complaining and acting like they were the only people with reservations still waiting to be sat. It was giving me SO much anxiety being stuck in a crowd with such a bad energy and sour puss faces. This was my first time here so I dont know if that's how they normally handle reservations, but if so, they could avoid a lot of pissed off people by not overbooking reservations! Went to Lulu's on saturday for brunch w/ my friend Mike and it was packed..glad I made a reservation. I ordered the chicken and red velvet waffle and Mike ordered the Atlantic omelette. Came here with a group of friends for the famous Sunday brunch! We had made a reservation prior due to the popularity of this place. The restaurants vibe was mainly given by its industrial decor. It was quite loud in the place but it was Sunday morning the place was packed! Our group was seated but had to wait very long for our orders to be taken ( the only reason I didn't give 5 stars! ) they had many veg options. We all enjoyed our food. Great service and amazing food. The Hilton front desk recommended Lu Lu's for brunch and they did not steer me wrong. I had the hash and eggs with a red velvet waffle on the side as well as a mimosa.
