Lulu California Bistro

This is a must! We have been visiting Palm Springs quite often within the last few years. For whatever reason we never stopped into Lulu until just last week. It was so wonderful that we went back the very next day. The environment and vibe is reason enough to visit. It’s colorful, fun and the decor just makes you feel relaxed and laid back. The indoor/outdoor seating is always an attractive bonus especially to these Midwesterners! We were lucky enough to have Tryston as our server on our first visit. He was so wonderful- friendly and knowledgeable, he made the experience so much fun. The menu has a little bit of everything which is great for when you are traveling with a group. There wasn’t one bad menu item; our server told us about the famous meatloaf that they are known for so that was a must and it did not disappoint! Martin was an excellent server. The seafood chowder, the pear salad, and the Chilean Sea Bass were delicious. The service:
PHENOMENAL! It’s unreal- Our waiter was amazing and charismatic, as well as the waiters for the tables around us. We even had asked a busboy who was cleaning one of the tables to take a picture of our group, and he jokingly jumped into the photo and made everyone laugh. We were checked up on at multiple points in our meal, and the servers were more than happy to provide recommendations. Shout out to Lurdis (I have no idea if that’s how you spell her name). She was the manager and is awesome!

The ambiance:
Very hip and casual, open, and bright. Everyone around here seems to be having a good time. It’s also not too loud to have a conversation comfortably. The outdoor seating is wonderful.

The food:
It’s pretty good. The menu is huge, and the food is good. Not anything out of this world, but it’s great. Not super great. But great. I only had seafood though, so I can’t speak much on this.

We have been to Lulu's on dozens of occasions. It is one of our go to restaurants for family, friends and clients. The menu is huge and varied, and has come a long way from the inception of the location, which had been a very challenging spot for its previous incarnation. The only unfortunate thing is that it is so successful it usually is at or near capacity which both slows down the service time and on some occasions makes it rather loud. It is usually best at those times to request eating on the front patio as it is quieter, and gives you the view of passersby which can fill some of the wait time. Busy place for American style food and bar. They are famous with the 3 course options order with $19.99 and 4 course options order with $29. 99 and $39.99. Of course you can order separate too. 4 course means soup,salad, entree and desert. Overall the food quality, prices and service are good but a little bit to salty on soup and sauce of entree. By far and away one of the best experiences we've had at a restaurant. We went to do a tasting for our upcoming wedding next year and both Emily (Catering Manager) and Eric (our server) were fantastic. Eric was super attentive, pleasant to speak to, and all smiles. Emily kept the food coming and was incredibly easy to work with and was super flexible when we had specific menu requests. Service staff were very kind and attentive. Food was very good and the portions we're extremely large. The restaurant is very large and seemed to hold a lot of people. The outdoor seating is very nice. The restaurant was not overly loud despite being such a large place.

A nice restaurant serving a wide variety of different foods from pizza to soups, salads and burgers to large entrees. The service is very good, the portions a re a nice size and the location is ideal for anytime meals. The outside patio is great for people watching and enjoying the great outdoors. The multi-course menu options offer something for everyone. From the mushroom soup appetizer to the double chocolate flourless cake everything was delicious. This is the quintessential California Bistro. Large menu with many choices for every price point. They will accommodate large parties if you just call ahead. Sit in the bar area for a smaller discounted menu that includes some of the favorite sandwiches and appetizers where its Happy Hour all day long. You might choose the patio seating for a front seat on Palm Canyon Drive which is usually filled with tourists walking about and shopping at the many shops.
