We had the absolute pleasure of having Lucy as the photographer at our wedding. Lucy put us at ease during our pre wedding shoot it was a lovely relaxed experience, which was just what I needed as I am not a fan of having my photo taken. Lucy kept in contact with us in the run up to the wedding and ensured that she knew what photographs and group shots were important to us. Everything ran like clockwork on the day. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Knowing your equipment inside out so that you can concentrate on the subject and switch settings in an instant, capturing the natural emotions of the day.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I ask a range of questions from the timings of the wedding day right down to the details about family portraits and whether there are any specific photographs the client would like captured. I also check whether there are alternate weather plans!
What do you love most about your job?
Working with people! There is nothing like capturing the intimate moments and intricate relationships between people, it's an absolute buzz to be there at family occasions and big events. When you re taking photographs you pop into a different way of seeing and being and it carries through to the editing and presenting the finished product. I'm very proud of the high standard of work I produce from sometimes quite intense, crowded situations!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was absolutely ready to run my own business, I trained in London alongside some of the country's top wedding photographers. By the time I ran my own business I knew it back to front already and had only the desire to drive my own business forward. I was already getting lots of exciting offers of work, inspiration came from studying the history of photography and I had always been a photographer with my own darkroom!

I really allow the clients to relax and enjoy their wedding celebrations. I am discreet and punctual and deliver to a high standard.
