Lorraine is a master in her craft, and has created a hair salon that is warm & welcoming, and makes you feel like a part of a family walk through the doors. You can overhear conversations between the stylists and their clients that show a vested relationship, not just another transaction. They offer a wide variety of hair & beauty services from professionals who know their stuff, and make you feel like a million bucks when you walk out of the salon. Thank you very much Lorraine! I have been working in and around NYC for the last 2 months and have neglected my coco puff of natural curly hair! Even Lorraine said, "whomever cut your hair before today; I don't like this back here." Fact of the matter is that I was the last tonto to cut my hair! Lmao! Did I admit that? Of course not! LoL! However, from start to finish, I asked her to give me a proper haircut to her liking and she did that and I absolutely love my hair cut! She knows how to cut natural curly hair (I'm American but from a Puerto Ricano papa y Mexicana mama)! After the haircut, I was offered to get a shampoo and then conditioner with a head massage. I nearly fell asleep from the head massage.......... Heaven! I bought a few Redken hair products for my hair type and made sure to tip Lorraine well! I never write reviews, but felt compelled to write a fantastic review for Lorraine’s. After jumping from salon to salon in NYC and Hoboken for many years, never really satisfied with the end result, I am so happy to have found Lorraine’s. I have been a client of Paige’s for 5 years and have routinely received a cut and single process with the occasional blowout and highlights (when I need to mix things up). Paige is an excellent listener and provides great recommendations when I want to try something new. While I’m sitting in the chair waiting for my color to develop, I thoroughly enjoy chatting with Paige and the team, sipping coffee/tea/wine (whatever I’m feeling), and listening to an awesome playlist. Best salon experience I have ever had, super accommodating as i made the appointment that morning and was bale to be seen same day. You get tea, coffee, or water as soon as you come in. I made an appointment to get my eyebrows shaped and a facial. I highly recommend Rosalia, she did magic with my eyebrows..they have never looked better. I have been going to Lorraine's for a couple of years now, and I love it! The salon is always clean and decorated nicely. A very welcoming atmosphere . The stylists and receptionists are always pleasant on the phone and willing to help. My stylist is Jennifer Geoghan. She has helped me with an evolution of hair styles. I have curly hair and she somehow knows exactly how to care for it and to cut it. I am pretty nervous to take risks in general, but she helped me take baby steps to changing up my style, never pushing me too far though. For my engagement pictures in the summer I also had my make up done. I can honestly say that when I looked in the mirror I started to cry because I had never felt more beautiful. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!! I went there for balayage cut and blow out and I teared up, because I was so happy with the work that Paige did. I showed her a picture and she did EXACTLY what I showed her. Not many hairstylist can do that and I am beyond obsessed. My hairstylist I've been going to for about 7 years is wonderful but she unfortunately cannot color. So I took a chance with a new salon and stylist and I am so glad that I did. I did lots of research looking at pictures the stylist I went to, of the work she did and I was confident she would do a great job. She did just that and beyond. Everyone at the salon was so nice, welcoming and friendly. I brought my friend with me to get a balayage and blow out and she is also extremely happy with it. I've been going to Aileen at Lorraine's for about 6 months now and have never had a better stylist for highlights! She really listens to what the client wants and gives very good advice on what will look best. I will be back to write my review because I just made an appointment with a woman there. She was very nice. She asked specific questions like, my full name, what I wanted and even asked about the TYPE of hair I had. PERFECT because she said she has the RIGHT person for me. I'm pretty confident but we'll see.

She even gave me pricing details! I'm going for my wash and blow and will be anxoius to tell you about my experience...Wish me luck!

12/27/13 : OK I'M BACK!
To start, the ladies got on it right away. Upon my arrival (5:10pm) they took my coat, asked me if I wanted water, coffee or tea and had me take a seat with my hair dresser Nadiyah. She was especially picked for me since I mentioned that I had natural hair. She washed my hair so well! I'm used to the dominicanas who damn near scrape the life out of my scalp. It doesn't have to hurt to be done thoroughly. It felt good. Then we went over to her station and she got right to work on clowing my hair out. We all had a nice chat and they were very warm and kind to me. There was music playing as well and let me tell you, the decor hit home. LOL. Anyway, so she began to flat iron my hair and 1,2,3, I was dont. SHE WAS SOOOOO GENTLE! I'm used to getting my scalp burned and also my hair pulled. Dominican style! lol She even gave me a lot of samples LOTS of good ones and a welcome package. If you refer a friend, you get 10 dollars off which is cool. So yea the only thing I will say is that I told then on the phone that I'll just get the wash/blow which was priced at 41 dollars....I left there paying 75 dollars instead. Ouch. I feel like it was because she used the flat iron/curler on top of blowing it out...BUT It was well worth it and I even gave a 10 dollar tip to the woman who did my hair. It was literally PAINLESS!. For a girl with thick curly natural hair, she deserved it!

I don't think I can afford to go there on a daily basis, however, they will be my quick fix if i've got the cash flow. lol

I went to Lorraine's because I worked a half a block away. My experience there was excellent. Not only did Brittany take her time with me, she actually cared about my hair! I spent 4 hours there and enjoyed every minute of it. I have never left a salon feeling this beautiful! I got the ombre, cut, and blow out done and Brittany did an amazing job. She took her time with me and was patient. She was pleasant to speak with and honest. I would recommend anyone to go to this salon. This is the best place in town.
