When you are in Blacksburg, you have to try this place.  I went there on a football game day with my girlfriend and son.  The food was amazing!  Good drink selection also.  Did not have to wait long for our food.  It was a good portion for the price and very flavorful.  We got the 4 dip sampler, chicken shawarma and mixed kabob.  We have eaten a lot of Mediterranean food, and this was some of the best.  Get away from the downtown area and try something different!  They are willing to explain and are very helpful if you have questions (some of the things we ordered we didn't have before).  You can get BBQ anywhere, now try something different. Came here because of a hooked deal that was buy a burger and two drinks and get a free burger. Ended up getting a falafel burger and their philly burger. Philly burger wasn't eye popping or anything but the falafel burger was phenomenal. Never really had falafel much but I could tell it was freshly cooked and enjoyed it. For a burger, it's on the pricier end around $7/8 but it came with fries also. If you come here I'd recommend getting the falafel burger. More...

My friend and I visited this family friendly restaurant and were greeted with a simple decor and atmosphere upon entering. Simple because all their effort and time goes into making delicious, home-cooked meals. My friend and I ordered a mixed kabob plate and hummus appetizer to share and we left with enough food in a box to take home and eat for supper. There was plenty of rice and meat in the dish and it tasted home made, which I like better than that of chain Mediterranean places in the area. I just wish they gave us more vegetables in the kabob plate and that the service was a little bit faster. I really like the vibe inside the establishment - it's very homey. They have outdoor seating, and they split the interior of the restaurant into two sections. The split is very unique and I actually like it a lot as far as interior design goes.The store doubles as a coffee shop and Mediterranean restaurant. We decided to try the Mediterranean food. I ordered the Chicken Kabob Platter, which comes with rice and pita bread, along with a side - I chose salad with Greek dressing. Everything is served with tahini sauce. (See attached image)The chicken was good! I think it could have used a little more salt, but I enjoyed the flavor nonetheless. The Chicken Kabob was seasoned the same way as the Chicken Shawarma; the only difference was that the kabob was cut into bigger pieces, and not sliced the way that shawarma typically is. The rice was solid. I enjoyed the Pita bread, and I liked the fact that they warmed it up. The salad was delicious; they put a lot of onion in there which I like. Our waitress recommended the Greek dressing, which is why I ordered it, but I ended up not liking it. Overall, the food was decent! It was not super amazing, but I enjoyed it. And the way they plate their food is excellent.The service at Lucie Monroe's was amazing. The owner of the restaurant brought our table free hummus and pita bread, which was super nice and delicious! I have stopped by the drive through many times for the yummy coffe, but it was not till just the other day that I actually went in. What a lovely atmosphere! Tables, chairs, stools, couches! A little living room space with books and a coffee table. I could see myself spending several hours there easily! And the bathrooms were very spacious!
To top it off, we just so happened to go on Wednesday night where a crowd had gathered for open mic night! Such an inviting vibe.

Went in about a week and a half ago, and ordered the Lucie Monroe, (vanilla caramel latte). Truly was the best I've had. And I agree with a previous review, something about that big white cup makes it super yummy. While the coffee was a bit more expensive than Starbucks, I thought it was delicious, I would much rather pay a bit more and keep a local business thriving than spend it at a national chain. This is my second visit since new ownership. Everyone is super friendly. The first time I ordered a caramel latte and the only mix up was I didn't want it to go I wanted it in the big white mug that just seems to make it yummier. The second time, this time to go, my drink was made hot instead of iced and that's fine it was quickly and courteously remade even though they were very busy. I also ordered a ham and cheese quiche, while it tasted good, it was the size of a typical muffin cup and for $5 I feel like two of that serving size would have been much better, or a lower price. I will return again as the coffee both times has been great but won't be ordering the quiche at that price again. More...

My husband and I went here today and had their lamb gyro, almond bar, baklava, iced coffee, poppyseed muffin, and some lentil soup. It was all delicious, were nice portions and reasonably priced. Thank you for a great lunch experience! I recently started working in Christiansburg and was excited to find some local lunch spots. The fries, chicken gyro and side salad were all delicious. I appreciated the attention to detail with the perfectly spiced ketchup and the delicious champagne vinegar dressing!!! My fiancé also enjoyed his turkey sandwich, and he finished every bite! Went here for lunch with some friends. The food we had was good, the mocha frappe that Friend 1 had didn't have any sweetness from the mocha, and the green tea drink Friend 2 had was not good. After posting a review addressing these issues and a few minor other ones, while we were sitting there talking, the new owner came and talked with us. After pointing out our experience, a new drink was made up for the friend who wanted one. The new one was much better and created a better experience.

After our negative review was seen, the new owner went out of his way to remedy the negativities and as a result, I myself will at least be coming back. More...

Ate there for the first time today; girlfriend had the Kafta sandwich which came with tachini sauce, and she also got the Greek salad. She was happy with both and the portion sizes. The salad was so big she couldn't eat it in one sitting. I had a Philly cheese steak, and it was also large and tasted great. We ordered through Grubhub, and the order was filled quickly. Lucid Monroe's is getting better each time I eat it! Would give 10 stars just for the service. The people are so nice and accommodating.
