Sooo delicious. Will be back for more! The pork belly buns were amazing. I could eats these things every day.
The best restaurant in Chapel Hill! Amazing food, great service! Love love love this place!
our Service was with Emily- Super Friendly and helpful
Great fusion food! Most food was either Latin American or Asian, not as much true fusion dishes as expected. However, everything tasted great
I order the Pozole Soup because I was sick. It was delicious and made me feel so much better. Now I have to find this soup where I live or learn to make it.
This is hidden gem right under your nose. I had not been here in few years but good service, food and drinks it will become a local favorite and my go to place as I moved into Chapel Hill just 2 months ago.
The food and ambiance was awesome! I went with my fiancé and our friends. Our friends ordered drinks and let us try them, and they were both great! The pineapple margarita was served in a super cute pineapple shaped mason jar thing. In terms of food, I had the salmon dish and my fiancé had the pollo saltado. Our friends had the general tsos and the kimchi pork belly fried rice, which i also sampled and were also great!!! My salmon was served with a butternut squash mash and it was really food with an interesting kick. The only thing i wasn't impressed with was the asparagus as it seemed undercooked so was not really edible. Also, our server was really excellent about giving us menu suggestions, but after our food was delivered he did a somewhat poor job on follow up. It took us close to 20 minutes to get our checks and get cashed out after we had been done eating, which was a little bit of a bummer because we had tickets to an event. Also, the floor was oddly sticky. Overall, i will definitely return and am looking forward to trying some more of their dishes! More...
The food was great and the place was super cute! I was a little worried because no one else was there when we got there , but we got there around 6ish. I had the pineapple jalapeño margarita and my significant other had a Lucha Mojito. They were delicious and super cute. Our waiter had wonderful suggestions. I had the kimchi pork belly fried rice and my significant other had general tsos. Both were delicious and had huge portions. Only complaint is our waiter became a little less attentive and it took about 15 minutes to get our check. Def would recommend! More...
The staff is very welcoming and the atmosphere is nice. We sat on the high table on the bar side. I particularly liked the flash fried green been and the seafood salad.
Buen servicio. La comida no me gusto mucho.
Good food, service, and atmosphere.
Wonderful food and great staff.
Korean beef tacos are amazing! We love this place.
For starters the service was excellent, the drinks made by a barista, the menu exotic and delicious, definitely to be revisited
Great selection of foods. Excellent flavors of food. Unique combinations of flavors. You can get it delivered by service from app.
Another local place that I somehow have missed. We were there about 4:30 on a Saturday and sat at the bar. They have a good selection of drinks and I am sure their margaritas are delicious but I'm unwilling to pay $12 to see. I ordered the $3 Tecate which was super cold and always tasty. We ordered a ton of food and all of it was delicious. The prices were good, and our bill was only $50 for a lot of food and three drinks.Even though we sat at the bar, the bartender didn't serve us, which is odd. The bartender seemed exceptionally grumpy and acted annoyed every time a drink order came through the bar register. She was busy doing prep work as it was the end of her shift, so I am sure she was ready to get out of there, but it was unwelcoming nonetheless. Claire greeted and served us and she was very personable, attentive, and pleasant. More...
This place has excellent food and a great vibe!
The fact that they even try to pull off Japanese mixed with Mexican deserves attention. They deserve applause because it's done so freaking well. Seriously the best prepared tofu I've ever had. I love their veggie selections and always eat there when I'm in the area. Great for vegetarians! Another GOLD STAR for their eco-consciousness take out containers and lack of plastic straws! More...
I can’t begin to describe how awesome our waitress was. I am on paleo diet and the only thing that sort of matches the description with protein was the salmon poke. First our waitress checked to see if seaweed salad contains salt or sugar, then she suggested substitution. After the order was made, she made sure the sauce was not mixed with food (because the sauce was not paleo compliment). Unfortunately, the cook mixed the sauce, so they had to fix it. Our waitress communicated the issue with us quickly and clearly, she also apologized (even thought it was totally NOT her fault nor obligation). I think being there with this kind of customer service, it really didn’t matter how the food tasted, I was emotional touched by the experience, how she cared so much about her customers. More...
Music wus gr8
I ordered their pho and kimchi fried rice for dinner. They have nice flavors but a bit too salty. The rice noodles got stuck together during the delivery. I really love the porks in the fried rice! A bit overpriced for what you get. But overall, I enjoyed the food. More...

Great place for lunch! Food was excellent!
This is going to be the easiest yelp review I have to write. One of my favorite places I have ever eaten at. I started coming here since August and I have already been here over 10 times/ uber eats at least 5 times. Khoa is hands down the best manager I've ever got to deal with. There are no flaws with Lucha Tigre. I am thrilled to be a loyal customer for four more years down here. More...
I am so glad that I tried Lucha Tigre. The wait staff was great and the chef was accommodating since we ordered something that's usually served only at particular times. Not only was the food hot, fresh, and filling, but the outdoor seating was comfortable. We ended up just hanging out talking for awhile after we finished our meal. More...
Super cute place. I'm a sucker for Asian Mexican fusion and wasn't expecting to find a spot in chapel hill. Mixed crowd not too busy. Wait staff slow but kitchen super fast. Ordered spicy garlic green beans and tacos - Curry squash - exceptional, bulgogi - pretty good (i prefer my bulgogi in larger pieces of meat like pulled pork or shredded beef but kimchi on top was nice touch , juarillo chicken - good. More...
Fun place with great choices. Check out my photo of the butternut squash tacos and the bananas and Nutella empanadas.
Delightfully diverse menu, very pleasant ambience, excellent service.
A fun combination of Asian and Mexican cuisine you'll enjoy
The twice fried wing are bomb
Really cool spot. Great ambiance, food and service. Business was slow, though so that may have been a factor. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to trying them for dinner sometime soon.
Sometimes I go just for the sake ginger guacamole served with both corn and flour tortilla chips. Adding the heat seeking shrimp appetizer made for a delightful and filling meal for 2 of us.
Good food. Interesting combinations of flavors. Good staff.
The heat seeker tofu was fabulous, great staff and friendly warm environment. Will definitely be back ! So so good!
I can't say enough good things about their food. Several visits and I've always been so pleased with what I have ordered! I especially love their esquites and bulgogi bowl!
Great food wonderful service !!! Will spread the word . Kat P.

The wait (for a table for 5) was not TOO long, but well worth it!... starters were twice fried ckn wings (had to order another). .. fried , cut corn and a salsa sampler with a mix of torilla &won ton chips... Two seared salmon platters, two spicy ckn and lo mein, and one seafood medley over (wasabi) mashed potatoes... EVERYTHING was delicious❣... The Dark and Stormy cocktail was tasty and refreshing... The drink menu was simple, but VERY interesting and desirable for my palate... I would return, if my stay was longer... Highly recommend More...
Place is awesome, staff is pleasant and knowledgeable, best wings in town (dinner only....BOOOOO).
Sampled a number of delicious tapas. Especially liked the empanadas
Cocktails were good. Didn't have any food. The service wasn't great, but we went right before they close
Asian-Mexican cuisine seems a little weird but honestly it’s a match-made in heaven. This is one of my favorite Chapel Hill spots. Great food and great service. And they always have this weird Asian fantasy show playing at the bar. I’ve never been able to grasp what it’s about but it’s entertaining to watch when the conversation lulls. Drinks are pricey though. More...
The atmosphere is awesome, pork belly buns were delicious and the pad Thai al pastor is my favorite thing to get here. Service could be a little better but overall awesome More...
I love Lucha Tigre!! Their food is super unique and tastes great. My go to dish is the pad Thai al pastor, and it's the perfect blend of Asian and Mexican in bowl. They have a great patio as well and a good bar, so it's the perfect spot for a nice evening when the weather is good. It's great for dates as well and you can easily walk over to the Bolin Creek trail for a nice little stroll. More...
Went here for a late dinner, so there was not a lot of people in the restaurant which made service pretty quick. We got a bunch of apps to share and the pastor pad Thai. The bugulgi nachos was HUGE. That alone could have fed my friend and I. The meat was pretty good, and there was also kimchi in there which was a nice contrast. The other shrimp spring roll is just alright, and for $6 go to an actual Vietnamese restaurant and get it there for half the price. The shrimp ceviche was very delicious, tasted very fresh with the avocado. The pork bun was too fatty and tough for my taste so I would probably skip that too. At this point we were too full for the pad Thai, so we had to pack it home. However, I did have one bite and it was definitely not your typical pad Thai! It had a great flavor. Definitely one to try. Great food @ very reasonable prices
It's a nice place for fusion cuisine. A bit expensive but overall worth the money for good food and nice cocktails. Also, this stays open longer and nice lighting for outdoor seating!
We wanted to try something different for lunch today, and this was a good choice. They have a separate lunch menu, which includes a combo: two tacos or two empanadas, one side and a fountain drink for $10. This was a good deal, and almost too much for lunch for me. Red curried chicken in an empanada and red curried butternut squash tacos were great fusion choices. We also liked the chicken guajillo taco and the queso and mushroom empanada. My tacos were so stuffed that I couldn't pick them up without making a huge mess, so I had to use a knife and fork. Although the small dining room was less than half full and there were three people waiting tables, we rarely saw our server. He almost forgot to bring us our drinks and only came around to give us our check. On the plus side, they don't give out plastic straws, and the plates, glasses and silverware were high quality. Finally, this place wasn't easy to find! My suggestion: The minute you see Hunam Chinese, turn in to the parking lot. Lucha Tigre is in the strip of shops behind Hunam Chinese, at the far end. It's worth the hunt! More...
Best Tequila selection. The wings are so good that we had to do it twice. Yum!
Great restaurant. Food and drink are great.
Delicious meal! The empanada appetizers were crispy and full of flavor and the two included salsas hit the spot. For my entree, the seared salmon fillet was very good. Great presentation and nice outdoor patio. We will be back! More...
Diverse, cultured, down-to-earth. An approachable fusion restaurant that satisfies the palate and appeals to a variety of tastes and preferences. Well done!
Best place in Chapel Hill!!!! The staff reflects its owner: friendly, understanding, and helpful. You can order anything on the menu and it will not disappoint.
I came here for a family dinner and we were all very happy with our experience! We came hungry and devoured the bulgogi beef nachos. They weren't huge so would work well as both an appetizer or entree! For my entree I had such a hard time deciding because everything looked amazing, but went with the sweet and spicy tofu. At first I didn't really feel the heat, but after a few bites it hit me! The sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. They were very generous with the portion. It came on a bed of rice in a steep bowl, which I really liked because it made it easier to eat. I can't wait to come back! More...
Love love love this place. Basically went two days in a row. Got tacos both times and they were so delicious especially the sweet potato one. Service was very nice and the environment is a cool one. Definitely recommend. Its easy to make a reservation on the phone and I recommend that because it can get busy! More...
The owner treats you like family. The food is unreal, service is great! And the food comes out quick and hot. Highly recommend!
Wonderful service; fast and fresh food. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.
I got the Pad Thai Al Pastor. Good food, good atmosphere, wasn't a long wait on a weekend night. Good experience overall.
Most of food was good, but the pad Thai was as good as it gets. Would def go back just for that. Haven’t had pad Thai this good in years.
While dinner or lunch makes sense, the entrees well sized and delicious, the real gem is brunch - green tea waffle and fried chicken, bulgogi nachos, and more.
Great staff...great food.
excellent service, savory well seasoned food
Excellent food, friendly and attentive service. Wonderfully creative menu. I've only been to dinner once, but if it's always this good, it will quickly become a favorite.
Good tacos and interesting mix of Asian and Latin/hispanic/vegitarian food. Service is slow, and it is a little skimpy on portions.
Great food and friendly service. If you are in Chapel Hill, you simply must eat here.
We loved this restaurant! The service was friendly. Every dish was wonderful! The atmosphere is cool and warm -- not overly formal.
Hands down the coolest restaurant in town! The food is absolutely incredible and it is my first stop in Chapel Hill every time I get down there. This is a must if you live in the Chapel Hill area. More...
I was there with my family. We love the menu with items have new twist, not typical Asian. The servers were extremely nice, professional and knew about the items. Very prompt with requests. We were there for brunch today. They do not have dessert menu but you can have it from very good choices. The price is very good. It is a good college town place with good price and good portion, not large. I will recommend it highly. More...
Excellent food. Bathrooms need deep clean!
Amazing garlic and onion green beans!
Great food! We went on a Tuesday and had a great assortment of tacos, all excellent! The nachos were incredible too!
Very good food, good staff, and good atmosphere.
Muy buena la comida, buen servicio y buen ambiente , el lugar esta limpio y bien organisado ! Recomendado
Seriously so happy we found this gem ❤️
Great food, fast service
Go on taco night and get the general Tsao tacos. So good.

The food was incredible -- as was the service. Very friendly and professional staff.
Good food and service.
Everything about this place is amazing! Loved the whole experience

Outstanding restaurant with great food and great service!
Great place, great food and a Great DJ Nevy brunch music!!!
Love the Drinks. Interesting foods. Weakness for the Esquites.
Best fusion place I've ever seen. Curry chicken tacos!
Tucked away in the corner of a fairly busy area lucha tigre makes a great place to get some unique dish choices or a nice bar to hang at with friends. If you've never been here before and your not sure what to get sit down at the bar with your friends and check out the bar menu. You get smaller plates at a reduced price, gives you a great opportunity to try a bunch of some of their most unique dishes. If your looking to sit with friends and hang out make sure you make use of their beautiful outside seating when the weather is nice. More...
Great food, busy, and often a wait, but worth the wait.
Hidden gem that everyone local knows about apparently.
Creative and fresh fusion food
Lucha Tigre is great. Everyone who works here is super nice, and the dishes are basically inventive comfort food - a tough combination to pull off. (You feel cool when you eat them, instead of slightly embarrassed like with most comfort food...even when it’s past 10 pm and you probably shouldn’t be ordering takeout. I’m pretty sure it’s a fact that eating at Lucha Tigre makes you measurably cooler.) My housemates and I love the General Tso’s chicken- it’s our fav midnight snack! More...
Great meal and service!
Awesome fusion fare. The salmon poke bowl is tops. Great tacos, too!
Well presented small and large plates. Fusion at its best!
Restaurant and bar, great selection of tequila, great good Asian fusion, love the nachos here. Nice clean have, great staff. Never had a bad meal here.
It's a little pricey, but worth it :)!
Interesting food, casual, good prices, good service
Good food in a fun, inviting setting. Great service.
Very good food and great staff
The atmosphere is always laid back. Nice tapas, and Hispanic/Asian fusion food. Added bonus is there's always a martial arts flick on at the bar.
Great food, great staff. Hopping place!
Always the best thanks Khoa ☺
Hit or miss on the food. Some was great, others just ok. A bit on the expensive side.
Amazing Tofu and other food, chicken I ordered tho required 15 min of chewing per bite
Great food, cool atmosphere, reasonable prices.
One of our favorite places! Food, drinks and service are great!
Delish, unique, and great service!
Delicious every time!
We enjoyed the bulgogi bowl and pad Thai bowl. Ginger chicken salad was dry and tasteless.
Miguel Garcia-Ochoa Zuazua
Great place and nice food!
Very nice locale. Serving very tasty food. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that this establishment is located sorta “off-beat”. If it would be on Franklin I would go there more frequently. I guess, though parking availability which is way better than on Franklin make this place attractive for some folks. More...
Friendly and attentive staff, delicious home made empanadas and a bar stocked with some of the best tequilas you can get. The Sunday brunch menu is a great variety and delicious.
Amazing food !!
The pork buns were SO GOOD. The salmon poke bowl was delicious, and my husband enjoyed the empanadas.
Taco Tuesday is the bees knees. George is the best bartender around. Khoa will make you feel right at home. Go here.
Lots of great Asian/Latin options. Excellent cocktails
Excellent innovative food. Friendly service and warm ambiance.
My absolute favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill. Their drinks are fantastic, and there are so many creative choices for food that everyone in your party is sure to find something delious. The sake-ginger guac is incredible and comes with both chips and fried wontons which is a nice touch! The patio is a great spot in the summer time to meet up with friends and share a few small plates. Also great for dates More...
Friendly, very good food, reasonable prices, outdoor tables, bar.
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. My daughter suggested we try this place and we were blown away. Amazing pho, tacos, pork belly buns and dumplings. Not a single dish we sampled disappointed in any way. We will definitely be coming back soon for our next Daddy / daughter date. More...
Delicious food and drink, including cocktails and a full bar.
Awesome tacos, great patio dining!
My wife and I have eaten here about a half dozen times now. Very solid beer/drink list that nicely fits the cuisine. The green beans app is great. Pho is at least on par with House of Pho for best in town. We will eat here many more times. More...

Love this place!! Great environment and always delicious food! I've never had a dish I didn't like. My favorites are the beef bulgogi nachos and the heat seeker shrimp! Good pork belly buns too.
Came with a friend for a weeknight dinner. Service was very good.We shared the chicken wing appetizer and the green tea crepe dessert. For our entrees, we had the pork belly fried rice bowl and the beef bulgogi bowl. The chicken wings were good, served with 2 sauces. The pork belly bowl had very little pork belly; it was mostly fried rice. The beef bulgogi bowl was wonderful! Definitely the hit of the night. The green tea crepe dessert was just meh. Their other desserts are probably much better. More...
Very good Asian-Latin fusion! The spicy noodles were perfect! Maybe a bit too pricey but that might have been because the service was slack (though it was super busy).

Probably the worst service I have had in a couple of years. Literally sat with no wait staff in a half empty restaurant for 24 minutes till I asked politely for one of the four servers to get our waitress. Decided to give it a second try for date night, delicious tapas. Exceeded expectations, great service and date was super happy with meal. Pulled Pork empanadas for the win!
I was really pleased after coming here randomly one late evening. My partner had been under the impression that there weren't enough vegetarian options to be of use to me, but there were plenty. I would agree with the other reviewers who said the food is more separate than fusion, but hey, it's still good. I recommend the vegan ceviche (they use a meat substitute, which honestly isn't necessary) with a delicious cocktail. It was filling enough to be an entrée. The partner absolutely loved the pork and the chipotle black bean tacos. Service was cheerful and responsive. We will be back. More...
An excellent idea and even better execution. Food, vibe, and service are always top quality. The menu offers something for everyone while still impressing with innovative fusion cuisine
Always amazing service! You can tell the owner really cares about the customers and the service his staff brings. One of my top choices to bring new people to!
One of the best bulkogi I've had since I was in Korea! Read some reviews about the concept which I agree with but their food is really good!
Ahhhhh lucha. Food here is surprisingly better than expected and their menu is eclectic with a good fusion of cultures. I have to say their General Tsaos chicken is the absolute best in town and around the area. It's not heavily fried and soaked in a goopy sauce. Light and flash fried. This is how general tsao's should be anywhere. Other Asian places need take note on this rendition. More...
Went in for dinner with the boyfriend. We started with sticky buns and finished with the salmon poke and steamed dumplings.
The buns were crazy good. I don’t like pork belly but I like that sticky bun. Only thing I’d change would be instead of thick cucumber rounds perhaps try thin strips, I think it would showcase the pork better texture-wise while keeping the crunch.
The poke was okay. The avocado wasn’t the freshest and it needed a sauce of sorts on the side apart from the soy.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back! More...
Dope theme, excellent food, great tequila selection and staff that treats you like family. Lucha is always a must when in the area!
Literally the best place ever and my favorite place in town. I have been coming since their soft open and it just keeps getting better.

My husband and I dropped by here around 3 PM after a game day and were so glad to see that it's open, brownie points for being open late for lunch! We started off with the Spicy Pineapple-Tofu Sandwich & the Tacos (Black Bean & Butternut Squash Red Curry). The black bean taco was sort of ordinary, but the Butternut Squash Taco was done really well. Just the perfect level of spices let the flavor of the butternut squash come though really well. I really loved the sandwich too; the Pineapple slices were grilled to perfection. But my husband thought that the Pineapples had a mild/funky seafood flavor which he didn't enjoy. Still famished, we ended up ordering the Banana-Nutella Empanadas and the crispy green beans as well. I was secretly hoping that the Empanadas wouldn't be too sweet and too sweet they weren't :) They served warm with just a drizzle or two of nutella, we thoroughly enjoyed them. The green beans were a bit much salty! There are several more dished we'd like to try and will definitely be back if we are in the area! More...

Recently came here for some late night eats and was really pleased! There are plenty of options, ranging from cheaper dishes to $20+ entrees. And the beer selection is great! It's the only place I've been able to find a Singha in Chape Hill.We had the veggie dishes, but I'm definitely dying to try the bulgogi nachos. The sauce in the tofu pan fry was great! And the butternut squash taco was A+.This would be a good place for groups, a date night or just sitting solo at the bar. More...

We were driving by and decided to stop in for a late dinner. Very cool atmosphere and interesting menu. We loved the shrimp and also the dumpling appetizers, they were great. Hubby ordered the general tso's chicken and it was very good. I ordered the tacos: beef, pork, and chicken. I loved the beef and the others were just okay- lacked a little flavor for me. The salad that came with the tacos was iceberg lettuce which is just a personal preference that I don't care for in salads. I will return but will probably just go with the tapas instead of ordering an entree. More...
Great food, good price. Highly recommended . Had the braised beef taco and Chipotle black bean taco. Very good. Friendly staff.
Pretty good food, cute atmosphere
Empanadas were amazing!
Very good food. Nice outdoor patio.
Best General Tso chicken ever.
Amazing food. Service was warm and friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed.
Quant Mexican Asian fusion with lots of fun small plates with occasionally slowish service. Expect a wait on weekends.
Atmosphere, service, food, and staff ...its all so amazing!
Best General Tso's Chicken ever. Wonderful cocktails, great service, amazing food.
Love the atmosphere on Weekends. Very vibrant near bar. We ate at the bar. Delicious food, very creative chef. Expect a crowd on Friday and Saturday.
Great service and food for a fair price. I had the duck which was brilliantly done.
Lucha Tigre is fabulous! We are "foodies" and have three Chef's in our family. Everything was impressive, from the atmosphere, to the service and cocktails, but especially the food which was scrumptious!
I love the Latino-Asian fusion food concept. World-class empanadas and the pho is delicious! Great drinks and affordable prices. This is one of my favorite lunchtime destinations. More...
The best food and best service I've had in Chapel Hill
Great food. Unfriendly bartender and staff, but excellent food choices.

Great place. Very nice design and layout. The hosts and wait staff are amazingly friendly and the food is delicious! Must try the red curry chicken empanadas!
Great place.. good food...
In this town, after 10PM, it's almost impossible to get amazing food - unless you're aware of this gem tucked away in a shopping center! If you like bulgogi, you need to try this place. I have been eating here for 5 years and the food has NEVER been less than excellent, even at 11:30PM. There are only a few places I insist anyone visiting tries, and this is one of them. The service has gone slightly down hill a bit recently, but understandably they have lost several of their multi year team members and I for one am happy to wait a few minutes (nothing crazy, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for anything). If this was a "you better bring a book" situation, I would say so, but honestly, you can tell it's simply a matter of having a few people that are new to the industry, not all of them, but some. The service is still acceptable and far from atrocious. The bar menu is easy on your wallet ($3 mushu pork taco!!!) and I seem to meet an interesting person almost every time I eat at said bar. The dinner menu is not cheap, but gourmet food never is and that's exactly what's on the menu. I have never recieved a $26 bill and thought "this is over priced" but quite the opposite. Food of this caliber is usually more expensive - looking at you jujube ;) The outside seating is also for the win, this little place has it all and you should definitely try it! The owner is friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable - go eat at Luche Tigre, you won't regret it. More...
This place is phenomenal, especially taco Tuesdays! All together there food is fantastic, atmosphere great, and staff even better!!
I had a couple of drinks, which were both fine albeit not memorable. BF had tacos, all of which were tasty. Would like to try it when I'm hungry.

Great Latin-Asian fusion cuisine.
Excellent nutella empanadas during brunch
Fun combination of food
HOLY COW. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE EVER. WENT HERE IN A WHIM, BUT PLAN TO RETURN.... PLACE CHECK THIS SPOT OUT.... DELICIOUS, GREAT STAFF... A+++++++++
Excellent food and service.
Great fusion offerings in a trendy setting.
Fun selection of drinks!
Food and service were both good and reasonable prices.
Really unique food at a reasonable price. Also has good portions. Everything I've had has been awesome.
Food is excellent. Service is acceptable. Generally, prepare for a slow food experience. Lunch woth a group of 8 took a little over two hours, for example. Salmon poke bowl is excellent. Pregnant wife stole my appetizer after remarking on the delay and later cornered the waitress to issue an ultimatum : either provide a check or experience a dine-and-dash More...
Delicious fusion food in a laid-back atmosphere!
So I was a little hesitant about the "fusion" concept, but the food is really good. Two negatives: the meat cuts are a little fatty, and the service is a bit slow. The atmosphere is nice and they have an outdoor seating patio that doesn't feel like it's right off the parking lot. So far I've eaten the tacos - Korean BBQ and pork Al Pastor - and the Pad Thai Al Pastor. Both were excellent. The Pad Thai has pineapple in it, in addition to the marinated pork and it's a surprisingly good flavor combo. The pork belly buns are creative and tasty. They also have banana Nutella empanadas for dessert. Hubby had the empanada entree where you can choose your filling and the Pho. More...
Great mix if Mexican and Asian food. I really like their Korean Bulogi bowl and the ability to have a Sapparo or a margarita with my meal it's ok for kids and they have a few high chairs.
My new favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill. Honestly we kept forgetting to try it since it's hidden behind a manky-looking Chinese place. But we went for my birthday and WOW. The cocktails are interesting, top-quality and not syrupy. You could easily make a meal out of the appetizer menu. We had the chipotle-pepita guacamole, fresh rolls and edamame, which were all freshly prepared and perfect. My husband raved about the fish curry - beautifully seared cod in a delicate sauce, so the texture and preparation were spot on. I had the heat seeker tofu and it lived up to its name - wonderfully spicy and a little sweet. One important note: even though they don't have a kids menu, the waitress was able to adapt the menu for our picky 5-year-old. You know it's a great experience when we're scanning the menu for what we'll order on our next visit. More...
Love this place!
Great food, really cool atmosphere
Asian-Mexican fusion cuisine in a quaint, cozy location in Chapel Hill. The menu is flexible and accomodates any and every taste. I highly recommend sampling the empanadas and tacos! The drink menu is also perfect for an evening outing with a group. More...
Interesting and delicious food at a reasonable price point. Definitely get the kimchi fried rice. Don't be scared away by "fusion"!
Nice atmosphere. Food was very flavorful and the wait staff were on point. Moderately priced and definitely worth the money. Great place for an intimate date night or small family gathering. More...
Great fusion of Mexican and Asian. Sweet beer selection as well.
Salmon Poke Salad was delicious, fresh and filling!
The food here is really inventive, asian-mexican if the name doesn't give that away. Everything we had was phenomenal but the sweet potato filling for the tacos just blew me away. I almost never like green beans but I actually enjoyed their appetizer. I recommend getting a few different entrees and sharing if you go with a few people because there are a lot of great different options. More...
I really liked the Pork Belly Buns. The chickens taco needed just a little more flavor. The bulgogi taco was spot on. The skirt steak was pretty great. The service was a little slow. I think they may have been understaffed. It appeared they had one waiter for the entire restaurant. Will definitely eat here again though. More...
Great food, love the concept and the vibe. So many things on the menu I wanted to try ! Korean beef BBQ tacos were my favorite thing.
I always really enjoy my meals here. The food is good but I mostly enjoy it because it is interesting. They have playful combinations of Latin and Asian food. I slam the bulgogi nachos like they are going out of style. More...
Delicious! Great Service! Great cocktails! We were lucky enough to stumble upon this place and will be back! The Pad Thai Al Pastor was scrumptious and the Bulgogi Nachos were well portioned and really great! The bartenders waited on us at the high tops and did not miss a beat! If in doubt try it out! Great food and service! Love the atmosphere as well!
Delicious food a solid beer selection. Excellent service and out door seating.
Delicious and friendly
This place was a solid four stars, maybe four and a half or five for food quality. I got the bulgogi bowl and my friend got general tso's chicken, as well as dumplings for an appetizer. The portions were pretty generous, and both had quite a bit of meat, but I still felt like $18 after tax and tip for a bowl of meat, rice, and kimchi was a bit steep (compared with what I usually spend). Flavors were good though! The dumplings were average. Service was also average. I'd still go back to try other items because there are a lot of interesting dishes. More...
The atmosphere was very fun and cool. We started with the bulgogi nachos that were very fresh and I will have again. We shared the corn and pork empanadas. The pork was better. We also got the pad Thai. My 2 year old loved the noodles and the pork was very well seasoned. Service was a bit slow but will be back for the food. More...
My fiancé and I were in Chapel Hill for a Tar Heel filled weekend and stumbled upon this place after a quick search on Yelp. It was a good sign when we walked in on a Monday night and found the place bustling. We were seated at a table right in the middle of the restaurant so we were able to take in all the cool décor. We really enjoyed the paintings of Lechadors in suits and Sumos wrestling tigers. Lecha Tigre has a very cool menu that offers a wide array of Mexican and Asian Tapas. Our eyes went straight to the pork buns. Living in NYC, we had been lucky enough to taste some really good pork buns, and I have to say that these were up there with some of the best we've had. We also tried the Mexican street corn and the shrimp ceviche. Both very flavor, but bizarre presentation. The Mexican corn is served off the cob and we had to mix the ingredients together. It's a cool concept, but it made it seem like we were eating baby food mixed together. The shrimp ceviche was also presently oddly. This was the first time ever we had ceviche not served in a some sort of glass. Presentation aside it was still very good. The crisps that came with the ceviche were also very good. They gave you a nice mix of homemade chips and Mexican tortillas chips.Overall, we left full and very satisfied. We totally recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Chapel Hill and is willing to venture away from Franklin Street for a meal. The menu is jammed packed with a lot of really interesting items. We are looking forward to coming back to Chapel Hill and we will definitely be stopping in Lecha Tigre. More...
Great stop for late night quality food. Not huge portions but very tasty and fast service! We only had a couple of tacos and the Pad Thai Al Pastor (which was VERY satisfying - 4. 5 stars). The tacos were good but a normal person will need at least 3. Relatively cheap cold beer and my wife had a solid, but expensive, cocktail. Way better than fast food - a winner for a late dinner or snack. More...
This place is pretty good and has some interesting menu items. It has a pretty cool atmosphere and is a good brunch spot for something a little different.
I have been meaning to try the Bulgogi Nachos at Lucha Tigre for years now. I had a feeling that it would be love at first taste after hearing about such an unholy combination of pure deliciousness. One of my lifelong goals was finally crossed off the list.I stopped by Lucha Tigre with a friend on the way to a concert at Cat's Cradle, and the parking lot was absolutely packed. Holy hell, was it ever packed. I had to park across the street in a lot where the chances of being towed were non-zero. This was kind of ridiculous given that it was a Tuesday night. I can't imagine trying to dine at Lucha Tigre on a weekend.Lucha Tigre is a Latin Asian fusion restaurant. There are a multitude of very interesting menu items that I'll try someday over the rainbow. The Pad Thai Al Pastor and Skirt Steak Mojo are just a few of the more interesting entree items that blend Latin and Asian flavors together. All of the interesting menu items didn't distract me from the mission at hand: Bulgogi Nachos.I went ahead and ordered the nachos for the table, and the server was pretty obnoxious. She needed to verify multiple times that I wanted the nachos located under the Tapas section. This doesn't make sense given that there are no other nachos on the menu. After further banter, the server ultimately told me that the portion is far too big for two guys, and I must have meant not-the-nachos and... Yeah, it really doesn't make sense. We're growing boys (mainly growing fat...), and we can eat.Lucha Tigre does a Taco Tuesday special. Pick from a variety of tacos for $2.00-$2.50 which represents a slight discount from their usual price. I ordered the Guajillo Chicken (chicken marinated with guajillo chilies) and the Panko Crusted Fish. The nachos came first, and the portion was ABSOLUTELY HUGE OMG I COULDN'T FINISH... No, I'm kidding. The portion was probably just right for two people with small entrees or 3-4 people with bigger entrees. Think about the portion of nachos that you typically get at a bar for ~$10, and that is how much you get at Lucha Tigre. These nachos could easily serve as an entree for anybody with a moderate appetite, if that's what you want to do. Seriously, don't believe the hype. I hope the other servers aren't this obnoxious.I absolutely loved the nachos. They were definitely worth the pilgrimage from the distant land of Raleigh. I knew that the flavors of bulgogi, queso, and kimchi would blend well, and I was very satisfied. The tacos tasted good, but were fairly average. There's a multitude of very cool menu items at Lucha Tigre, and I look forward to sampling them in the not-too-distant future. The Bulgogi Nachos are a must-try when stopping by the restaurant. The waitstaff hopefully won't be obnoxious to all diners, but ignore them if they say that the portion is massive and needs to be divided among 23095853 people. More...
I can't believe I haven't posted a review yet. Where to start Food is fantastic and the presentation is very appealing. Service is phenomenal and they make sure you are happy . And the drinks, my goodness they have a great selection! I highly recommend... Everything! But if you need to choose just one, get the bulgogi nachos or tacos! More...

This place is pretty fire. The al pastor pad Thai is my favorite and the posole soup is good too. I would not really recommend the ceviche (I'm peruvian and have had some really good ones so maybe that's why). The bulgogi nachos are bomb too! :) More...
I love coming here with friends and is a favorite lunch spot for my mom and I when she's visiting. They have excellent empanadas, and their salsa sampler is a must have, but anything on their tapas selection is a good call! I enjoy their spicy noodles and for brunch their pork belly biscuits and gravy makes my mouth water even as I'm typing now! I think their drink prices are a bit high for the area, but very tasty. I say spend your money on the food because you won't be disappointed. More...
I always hear people talk about Lucha Tigre, so I finally went to check it out yesterday. I drove all the way here just to eat (from Charlotte) and go home and when I say it was worth, it was WORTH the drive. As I entered the restaurant the staff was very polite and greeted me immediately. As I sat down at my table a couple minutes later our waiter already brought us water and asked us if we wanted anything else to drink, which we did. We got the Sake Colada and the Tiger Mojito, they were both amazing. We both got empanadas and tacos(we went on Taco Tuesday) :) they were very cheap and wonderfully delicious! I got the Red Curry Empanada and the Beef Bulgogi Taco and an Esquites to start. I finished instantly it was so good. My friend got the Roasted Poblano Empanada, General Chicken Taco, and the Roasted Duck Taco. After that we both got another round empanada. We were beyond stuffed at the point. However we did order dessert as well. We got the Tres Leches Cake, it was very creamy and not too sweet which is perfect. I got a couple dishes Togo as well and I finished it before the night even ended. Overall, everything was fantastic from the very chill, hip environment to the drinks to the food (everything I ate was very good and that's a big plus for me at any restaurant, like EVERYTHING was good) to the staff/management!! I will definitely be returning to check out their Brunch option one weekend!! More...
Not really sure where to start here, amazed with this spot! The entire vision for this concept is perfect for the Chapel Hill demographic and the space makes you feel almost as if you're in South Beach. The first comment I made upon walking into the restaurant is that the space is a lot warmer than it seemed in the pictures, everything is well thought out and graphically pleasing. The logos, artwork, lighting, and outside areas really amazed me.Now to the drinks. The Tequila options are crazy! They sell some of the worlds best Tequila at a fraction of the price, offering quality mixed drinks and a wide array of beers. Anywhere I can find a Pacifica, I am very happy.Next to the food, wow. I tried plenty of their tapas and there wasn't one thing that left me underwhelmed. Empanadas, Chicken Tostada, Steamed Dumplings, and Crispy Green Beans. Everything that came out seemed better than the last, and the menu was clearly very well thought out. The food was all exceeding my expectations. I encourage you to visit my pictures and check out what I ate! Visit this restaurant if you're looking for a wide variety of top class food, amazing drinks, and a high quality environment. Thank you guys for being awesome! I will be back ! More...
Really delicious and creative fusion dishes! The bulgogi nachos as well as the green beans exceeded our expectations!
Went with the tapas. Everything was so great. Kimchi bacon fried rice and bulgogi nachos were great for sharing. Their take on Mexican street corn in a glass was very tasty and also easy to share. Guacamole with fresh chips that were obviously made on premises. Great margaritas. Friendly service. Nice outdoor patio that is dog friendly. More...
It was really good, all the plates were full of flavor. The atmosphere is great and the service is excellent. The best plate was the shrimp ceviche with wonton chips.
I ordered lunch for take-out. General Tso's, Bulgogi, and Pozole. It was my first time eating here. Everything was delicious and a great portion. Adding to my list of favorite places now. More...
Lucha Tigre's food is amazing and the staff is a lot of fun. It's a very down to earth atmosphere, great menu options and everything I've had there has been delicious. Definitely recommend it!!!
Very good place for dinner with lots of different choices on the menu. Their nachos were so good, and after seeing all of the posts and pics on them, had to get them. The meat was cooked just right and the sauce was not too sweet and had a perfect spice in it. The heatseaker tofu was very good, and the celery and cardigan in that sauce just made it that much better. Their tres leche coconut cake was one of the best I've ever had. Can't wait to get back here. More...
We just had an amazing lunch here. Fresh margaritas and bloody Mary's, super delish guacamole to start, and had one each of the chicken Empanadas and tacos. Great atmosphere and lovely, personable service. It took us a while to order - the menu is very unique! - and our waitress couldn't have been more patient or helpful. More...
Love this place! Both the cha gio and posole. Where else would you get that.
Great late night food spot (fullmenu until midnight). Service was great as well. I'll be back whenever I'm in the Chapel Hill area.
I have had dinner here twice. The mixed drinks are good and the food is very good. The mix of Mexican food with Asian food is very interesting. A nice break from the regular restaurants in the area. They offer many small plates which allows you to try many new things. My only issue was while dining on the patio the flies get very intrusive. They really need to install ceiling fans or just add some large fans to keep the flies away and it would help to cool the patio down as well. More...
First time experience.Area: It's a nice, intimate place. Perfect for drinking and dining with a few friends. They also have a bar area with some TV's, which is nice if you just want to grab a drink and watch a game. Food: I ordered the beef bulgogi fried rice and it was good! The fried rice wasn't dry, which I was afraid of after I ordered it. Most places usually have dry fried rice, and that's not fun, but I think I didn't have to worry since this is a mexian-asian fusion restaurant. My friend ordered the salmon poke bowl, and it looked delicious!Service: Our waiter was nice and attentive. He helped us with deciding what to order since it was our first time. I'll come back again and try something different next time. More...
Fun atmosphere. Good Mexican food, if a safe interpretation of the cuisine. Good for work dinners or a date but lacking something adventurous or surprising. They have a great space and good execution of plates, they just need to reach more to make the place special. More...
Anytime I leave Rockingham County I look for food I can't get at home. Latin/Asian Fusion! Yum! Small, unassuming little place in a strip mall just down the road from Top of the Hill. Drive too fast and you'll miss it. I got the Lemongrass chicken bowl and had enough left to carry home; hubby got Coconut Curry Whitefish -- he cleaned his plate. Daughter got fish tacos and nieces split General Tso's Chicken. We had a delightful time and our waiter was spot on. Recommended beer selection was perfect. It's an hour & a half from home, so wish it was closer! More...
Best tequila bar in the world?

Great place. Interesting menu items that can't be found at any other restaurant! Would especially recommend for lunch
Nice bar with a dog-friendly outdoor area and good food - the kitchen is open nice and late!
Great fusion food with a little something for everyone. If you want pozole or pho, tacos or dumplings! Awesome cocktails too with some unique fusion sake drinks. Kids loved it as did the adults! More...
Our first, but definitely not our last visit! Great food, quirky menu, nice staff.
I came to Chapel Hill for a conference and we had made a reservation for a party of about 20 for dinner. They seated us immediately and our waitress was so sweet. I got the the Lucha ACP because duck sounded amazing. It was! Except my duck was a little burnt, in turn, causing the duck to be a bit dry. The fried rice also had duck dispersed throughout it and the dish has really good flavor. They put sauce on top of the duck, but I wish they put more sauce on it because it can be a little bland. The addition of the Poblanos added a little kick to the rice and was delish. They have a unique menu and if I do get the chance to go back, I wanna try all the other menu items! I love the theme of the restaurant also! I like their twist and I applaud them for their ideas. I tried the Pad Thai and you can taste the distinct combinations of flavor between the two genres of food. More...
Very interesting twist of Asian+Mexican dishes. Good food and even better margaritas! Off the beaten path but totally worth checking out. Yummmm!
I've had this place bookmarked for a while so I suggested it when my friend and I were looking for a place to grab lunch. Such a good decision - I'm so happy I found this place one day on yelp because I don't think I ever would've stumbled across it otherwise ! Here's what we ordered (in order of preference):- Beef Bulgogi Tacos. Probably the item I liked the most out of what we ordered. These little tacos are full of stuff they barely fold. The bulgogi and flavors mixed in the taco were really good. Definitely recommend!- Beef Bulgogi Nachos. We ordered this after it was recommended to my friend. There are a lot of toppings on these chips (and a lot of bulgogi!). The nachos were really good. If you order them, you don't want to wait too long to eat them, if you want to eat them with the tortilla chips, because the chips on the bottom will start to get soggy since there are so many toppings.- Chicken and Waffle [Two pieces of honey-chipotle fried chicken, served on a homemade green tea waffle]. I love green tea... so having the green tea waffle was fantastic! The chicken can get a bit messy because it is very saucy but it was good.Overall, it was a good experience. Parking was easy. Ample seating/had no wait when we went. Restaurant has a cool vibe. Food was good. More...
What an amazing culinary experience! I'm a vegetarian and they have many wonderful options.
This was the first place my boyfriend and I tried when we arrived in Chapel Hill. It was perfect! Everything was delicious; the shrimp, cocktails, tacos and nachos, all amazing!! The service was also great and we had such a great time. It was a perfect start to our vacation. More...
I am probably not going to be much help because the only thing I ever have here is the Pho and it is incredible. Well I forgot about the jalapeno margarita. My two go to items and always great. More...
Stopped in for some Friday lunch at Lucha Tigre and really enjoyed myself! Their decorations highlight the Asian/Latinx fusion in a fun way and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had some yummy al pastor pad thai with added veggies that was super filling (huge portion!) and my coworkers had the vegan ceviche and tacos. Can't wait to come back and dig into their nachos and dinner menu. More...

Hands down my favorite place in Chapel Hill! Great staff, delicious food, cool atmosphere, good music and Kung Fu flicks! Couldn't ask for anything more.
Excellent selection. Food is great and service was very good. I can't wait to come back!
Thank you Lucha Tigre for making a birthday celebration extra special last night. Special thanks to Megan and Chesley. You guys made us and our party of 12 feel right at home, and the food was incredible as always.
Lucha Tigre has become our go to restaurant in Chapel Hill. We love the food, the space, and the staff always make us feel right at home, welcome and comfortable. Last night we invited a group of our closest friends for a birthday celebration, and the experience was perfect. And above all, the food was incredible as always. Thanks Lucha Tigre! More...
This place is chic and casual. The avocado salad was extremely tasteful. And you can't leave without having the tres leches coconut came. AMAZING!!!
We had the crispy green beans, General Tso's Chicken and Tostadas and everything was super delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
Wow! The first time we came here in summer of 2016, the food was so-so, service slow. We just went back in winter of 2016, and what a difference! Empanadas were perfect, Guac was awesome, spicy chicken noodles were out of this world! Service was great, friendly, prompt and fun. Bulgogi nachos also rocked! More...
Lucha Tigre should be on anyone's list for a celebratory outing. A bit fancy, but not expensive. The Latin/Asian fusion fare is anything but 'same old' stuff. You won't be disappointed.
General TSO tofu is excellent. The dumplings were good but overpriced for five. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Mixed review on mixed drink. Clean and comfortable. Not too crowded. Would not recommend the pad Thai. More...
Lucha Tigre was one of the first restaurants I'd heard of when I got to UNC -- but because it's located past campus across MLK, I never really found it convenient enough to go. And then I moved off junior year and brought my car down. So I finally went two years later.I've heard Lucha Tigre is at its prime during dinner or late at night. My review is strictly based on my experience with Sunday brunch, which I had with a few friends a little while back. They had a nice variety of breakfast dishes -- unique ones like kimchi pancakes and classics like huevos rancheros. But what caught my eye was the last item on the brunch menu -- the Chicken and Waffle. I didn't even have to think twice about it. It was basically the restaurant version of love at first sight. The staff was on point that day, and brought the food out rather quickly. I expected my dish to be a Waffle House-sized waffle with two little chicken wings, maybe a drumstick. I've never been more happy to have been wrong in my entire life. Out comes the biggest piece of fried chicken breast I've ever seen in my life. I even got a massive drumstick too! They lay on top of one of those big, thick waffles that you make with the commercial waffle irons. The chicken was glazed with a honey-chipotle sauce and was spiced to perfection. And the waffle? Green tea flavored. I strongly urge you all to give it a try. You might look at the $12 price tag and think, "Wow, is it worth it?" Believe me, I was skeptical at first. But looking back, it's a no-brainer. It was an absolute treat. More...
Really good food. Service was excellent. Would definitely return given the chance.
This owner prides himself in the food they offer and they have a passion for customers. Food is different but very tasty, the people are pleasant, and the drinks are great!!
