Q&As

A successful website fulfills a need, communicates your message, and helps you grow your business. I create intuitive, user-friendly, professional websites for clients that enable them get the attention they deserve. The sites I design make it easy for clients to have as much control as they wish after launching. Website optimization and analytics are used for all sites to encourage high visibility in search engines. You don’t get all that with a template!

Whenever I receive an inquiry about website design, there are several questions I like to review with potential clients. My main goal is to find out some necessary information to help me understand the purpose of the site, the scope, and what steps might need to be taken to get the client exactly what they want.

Do you currently have a website? If so, how long have you had it?
If this is a new site, have you registered the domain name?
What is the main goal of the website?
Who is your target audience?
What are the websites of your competitors?
Are you familiar with search engine optimization (SEO) and best practices?
What are the websites you like the look and feel of?
What’s your budget?
Can you describe the style of website you are looking for?
Is content management important to you?

There is an initial discussion to find out what your needs are. If you’re revamping your current promotional materials or website, there’s a thorough review of what has been done in the past and how successful those were. If you’re creating materials or a website for the first time, we establish a consistent design style that communicates your branding throughout your materials or website.

A general idea of the scope of work is very helpful to understanding any project.

Becoming a freelance graphic designer was one of the best decisions I ever made. I get to do what I love. I feel very passionate about design. I get to create something new, which is a wonderful feeling. As a bonus, I get to meet some fantastic people along the way.

Part of really enjoying what I do is taking the time to reflect to see where I can continue to grow as a graphic design professional. You must continue to evolve, there’s little reward in remaining static. It’s not ideal personally or professionally. I decided to work as a freelance designer when I started a family as I hoped it would allow me more flexibility with my schedule.

With more than twenty-five years in the field graphic design, I am committed to providing quality custom design services for clients that are looking for modern, professional, materials with strong visual impact. I work one-on-one, learning about you and the goals of your business. This friendly, close-working relationship allows me to develop a strong strategy for your business with a cohesive design identity. You will find that you are able to share ideas and impart your own creativity easily during the design process.
