October 23rd had a great day with Lost Earth Adventures Gorge Walking, Caving, Climbing & Abseiling - really impressed by their organisation, management, skills, and knowledge of the areas we went - safety was always a top priority and they were so understanding of those of us with limited experience - To all the staff and instructors a BIG thanks from David, Merak and Ray.

We were a large group that had never done gorge scrambling before and we had a simply brilliant time in the peaks. Our instructor, Mark, was caring and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. He was ably assisted by Steve and between the two of them, the whole group Tackled the activity safely and with huge grins on our faces. Despite the hint of the desire of wanting to do caving, I can honestly say that the whole group had a fantastic time. Thank you Mark and Steve. You guys were brilliant. Maybe see you soon for some caving More...

Our guide Joe was awesome. We had an amazing time with him! He was so patient with my kids, and a really skilled and enthusiastic guide offering tons of positive reinforcement. My oldest son (age 15) has Autism and tends to be very cautious and nervous in new adventures. Joe was really kind to our son and helped him conquer his nerves with patience and encouragement. Our son was proud of his climbs, and left feeling more confident in his abilities as a result. We all had a blast and loved the day! We would absolutely recommend Joe and Lost Earth to any family looking for a climbing adventure. More...

A fantastic experience with a guide that put us well at ease caving Bagshawe Cavern in the Peak District. Tom was knowledgeable, experienced and astute in understanding the group members’ limits. The cave was a great choice for complete beginners as there were many options to take easier or more challenging routes. Everyone had a great time despite different experience levels and the variety was well worth travelling to Derbyshire for. More...

Potholing in Giant's Hole with a group of 6 - my old Venture Scout Unit and many years have passed since we were lean lithe teens.

Absolutely brilliant day, I felt completely safe with our leader Duncan, who got us kitted up, led us into the cave, rigged and showed us how to climb a caving ladder, let us explore a bit of the cave ourselves and challenged us to fit through a couple of small apertures. The first one was ok, but in my enthusiasm I tried the second, which was smaller than I was, and while two of our party managed to be born again of the rock (well that's what it looked like), I felt I was about to become irretrievably wedged about 2/3 of the way through, and had to slither rather less than gracefully back to where I'd gone in!

We climbed up beside a waterfall to an ideal lunching platform, then abseiled down Garlands Pot and crabwalked until at least two of our party had had enough of the squeeze, and returned via another climb, traverse and abseil followed by the challenge of a loooooooong caving ladder back up Garlands. (Some of us took the opportunity to be hauled up... )

Would absolutely jump at the chance to do it all again, Best day ever.

I work for Aldi UK, and my team in Baguley and I just came back from a challenging night trek up Mount Snowdon. We did this with 2 wonderful guides we met through Lost Earth Adventures, and they were wonderful. So a huge thank you to Matt Shaw and Neil Redgrave !! They guided our team through Tuesday night to early Wednesday morning. We had the best experience and are so proud of our team. We've managed to raise over £1000 for Teenage Cancer Trust so far by doing this event, and Matt and Neil helped us get there - so thank you for being a part of our journey and team! It was so lovely to meet you both. You made us feel comfortable, motivated and spurred us on. We'd recommend you guys to anyone! I also want to say a massive thank you to Emily Rowntree and Sarah Allard at Lost Earth Adventures. You both helped so much with the organising of this trip, and communication with you guys was fantastic and you were just so helpful and friendly. Really happy with my experience :) :)!! Just came back from Snowden yesterday, took a group of 24 (plus myself) 25! To Mt Snowden for a charity trek and I want to say a huge thank you to Matt, Will and Kieth! They were absolutely amazing each of them inspired us, pushed us, cared about us and looked after us impeccably! On the last hurdle down one of our ladies went over on her ankle and Matt stayed with her every step of the way until she reached the bottom. All to them made a huge difference to the trip and I was so glad we booked with Lost Earth! So many people said we didn’t need a guide and could do it ourselves. But the ankle experience, showed us we wouldn’t have known what to do if it were more serious and we were alone. Plus, the fact it made life easier for me, with so many women to gather and organise. The guys would give them times and encourage them to get up and start again (after rest times) We are so glad we did it! And will certainly will be booking our next adventure with you. thanks for a great job guys! More...
