General Plumbing

Peter responded immediately to my request and was excellent in resolving two minor but tricky problems (leaks to sink and taps). I can recommend him thoroughly!

Q&As

1. How do I know you will do a good job?
I only undertake jobs that I know I have the skills and experience for. I will be pleased to provide references if required.

2. Do you charge for quotes?
No I do not! I appreciate that my customers like to know exactly what they will be paying, particularly for larger jobs. In most instances I will visit you first to accurately assess the job, and send you a detailed quotation. For small jobs I will give you a price before I start work.

3. How much do you charge?
I will always send you a quotation (or agree a price if a small job) before carrying out the work.

4. What happens if you find a problem after you've started work?
Sometimes I come across an unforeseen problem once I've started work. For example, rotten floor boards when laying laminate flooring. Usually I can resolve these problems, but it can involve extra cost to you. I will ALWAYS contact you for your authorisation before I carry out any additional work.

5. Do you supply materials?
I prefer to supply all materials as I can get trade discount. If you wish to supply the materials that is fine, I will only guarantee materials supplied by me.

6. Will I have to wait in all day for you to arrive?
No, I will arrange a mutually convenient time to call and will keep you updated with my estimated time of arrival.

7. Will you have all the necessary tools and parts with you?
When I visit you to quote and assess the job, I will know exactly what I need. If there is an unforseen circumstance and I have to get additional materials, I will let you know in advance.

8. What about tidying up?
I treat your home as I would like mine to be treated, with respect and not a building site. I use dust sheets and will vacuum up any mess. I will endeavour to leave your home as I found it.

9. Can you look at my boiler or replace my old electric consumer board?
No, I am not 'GAS SAFE' registered, so I cannot work with gas and a qualified electrician (which I can recommend) should only work on consumer boards.

10. How and when do I pay?
For larger jobs a 50% deposit is required for the order of the materials and the balance of the material cost is required upon delivery. Final payment is to be made upon completion of the work. I will email or provide an invoice upon completion.

11. Are you insured?
Yes, I am fully insured. I have Public Liability Insurance.
