I don't give out 5 stars very easily but for this place I have no choice. I've worked in restaurants most of my life and can tell you a lot about a place just by eating there once. The quality of ingredients, menu selection, the genuine service, the seasoning of dishes here were all superior! It's a well run establishment with emphasis on quality food. I wish this place success in the long term because I predict it will only get more popular over time. We've all seen it too often when a good small start up gets popular something happens and expansion will ruin it. This will be one of my regular places. More...

Lolo is an amazing individual. I’m literally having tears come out as I eat this deliciously spicy calzone. It’s the best love of spicy. It’s very difficult to find authentic food that is cooked with good ingredient and served with a genuine smile — Lolo qualifies for all three after many visits here.On a quick side note: the food does taste exceptional (like today) when Lolo herself is there as is the quality of customer service. Absolutely delicious. You get the taste of Mediterranean food but even better with a kick of Egyptian spices. My husband and I ordered grape leaves, beef kafta plate and the hawawshi. Everything tasted fresh and tasty. Definitely will be my new go to spot when I don’t feel like cooking. Really excited to try new dishes here. Also the customer service was awesome. Had a really great experience here was traveling back from the Detroit area to home, had been sent a random recommendation from a friend for a small place to eat great food. The staff and owner were there and we're incredibly wonderful people who helped us decide and let us try several things to figure out what would be best for our family to order. This is without a doubt my favorite Mediterranean/Egyptian Cuisine restaurant in the area (or any area) My employer gets the trays for company-provided lunch periodically and this is how I was introduced to their food. Lolo Potluck is located on the SouthEast corner of Wattles & Rochester a couple of doors down from the Detroit Burger Bar. The restaurant is small and nothing particularly fancy as I imagine the bulk of their business is likely carry-out and catering.I walked in and was greeted with a smile and polite conversation. I placed my order which was then prepared fresh to my very particular specifications. When I got back to work I was happy to see everything was just as I had ordered it. In my humble opinion the quality of ingredients, as well as the attention to detail, is what makes a truly good restaurant. I always know what I am going to get when I go to Lolo's. Consistency is of particular importance to me and Lolo's consistently pleases my palette.This brings me to the final thing I consider when selecting an establishment to patronize - PRICE - The quality/quantity to price ratio is very good here. I consider Lolo's prices to be spot on when considering the quality and quantity of food.In short, I highly recommend checking out Lolo's Potluck yourself. I'll be honest, I didn't have a clue what we were ordering when we got the family meal for 5, but eveything was just amazing. The chicken was all perfectly seasoned and moist, not a dry piece in the entire platter and the beef was just as good. Awesome veggies and pita, too. Everything tasted great and there was more than enough for everyone. Best of all, you couldn't ask for nicer, friendlier people ot a better price for all that food. Exceptional.
