After traveling around the UK studying Karate for years I have found Twyford Traditional Shotokan Karate to be one of the best clubs I have ever trained at. My boys have been at Twyford Karate for over 5 years and are now heading towards their black belts . Sensei Alison has a wonderful way with all the children very encouraging and patient .
It is a very welcoming club with a good mixture of ages and abilities . Everyone is very supportive of each other .
Would highly recommend the club to anyone thinking of taking up karate .

Me and my oldest daughter started tywford karate a while ago now, we were made to feel very welcome from the start. Then my youngest daughter started to train with us too, it is great to train together. It's a great atmosphere,great people and a great place to make good friends as I have and so have my daughter's. My children and I have been training at Tywford karate for a few years now. The club is really friendly and supportive and there is a great atmosphere. We have to work hard but have a lot of fun in our training. If you are thinking of taking up Karate but just need that extra push to begin then contact Alison from Twyford Karate. She is clearly knowledgeable and experienced but very kind and welcoming. We have been helped at every stage by all the members of the club who all encourage each other. We've been coming to Twyford Karate as a family for 6 years! Sensei Alison is amazing. As a teacher she is fantastic at developing the skills of all grades in her class but what I love more is the encouragement, care and confidence she gives to us all. Best thing I ever did. Despite feeling nervous and "what am I doing", I have started training with my 2 boys aged 8 and 11. Sensei Alison couldn't have been more supportive and encouraging. The club members are really friendly and make us feel welcome. It's also great to do something with my children that we're all learning at the same pace. If you're tempted - DEFINITELY give it a go! My daughter's Katie aged 14 and Rachel aged 12 both train at Twyford Karate Club with Sensai Alison on Wednesday evenings.
Over the past few years I have watched them both grow in confidence, as they have developed new skills and made new friends within this group.
Sensai Alison is kind and patient with the students and always aware of when a student is unsure and needs extra support.
