I was quite nervous about my wedding hair and makeup as I’ve never had professional makeup done before (and I don’t wear much makeup day to day). .. my main fears were having over the top theatrical makeup and a hairstyle that would drop out after a few hours :/ However, as soon as I got in touch with Lizz I knew I had nothing to worry about. During the trial I felt super comfortable and excited - there was plenty of time to talk through and try out potential looks and to get to know each other a bit. I was really impressed with Lizz’s expertise and brilliant knowledge of the best products to use to enhance (rather than mask) my own personal style. On the wedding day Lizz was super-organised and efficient, navigating a small hotel room without making my three bridesmaids’ and I feel in any way rushed or uncomfortable - she had a big job to do but you wouldn’t know it, Lizz was totally calm throughout! We’re all really different hair/ looks-wise too but Lizz made sure we all had a version of the same look that genuinely suited us individually. My sister was mesmerised by watching how Lizz did everyone’s makeup with such care and precision - she said watching it was like getting a free makeup lesson! Lizz’s work also lasted really well all day (and evening), not something to be underestimated on a super windy Brighton day and (a few) glasses of sparkling wine. I would absolutely recommend Lizz to anyone looking for an independant hair and makeup artist. Given her friendliness, attention to detail and support in the run up to the wedding day, the cost was incredibly reasonable and worth it if you’re looking for peace of mind, and want to feel at your most beautiful (because I certainly did!) Lizz did the make up for my wedding last weekend.Results - wow, what can I say. I don't think I've ever felt that pretty before. The bridesmaids also looked absolutely stunning. Tailoring/flexibility - what was really great about Lizz is how she adapted her skills and knowledge to fit what you wanted. I wear little make up so Lizz created something really light and natural but considering the colour palette our wedding had. The bridesmaids all had slightly different approaches and Lizz was able to work with that and incorporate personal style whilst still being on theme. Cost- not a problem at all. The cost was very reasonable if not a bargain for the service received.Communication - fantastic. Lizz recently did my make-up for my wedding and I'd be happy to recommend her! I went for a trial with her first of all, and she was easy to work with, as I wasn't keen on my first version of make-up, so she changed it until I felt it was me (I wanted going out eyes, and barely there make-up for my skin). I naturally feel uncomfortable asking for changes for anything, but she made it easy for me, explaining it was part of the process. Everyone looked stunning, they got a real personalised service as she took time to ask what each individual wanted and talk to them making them feel at ease. What do you love most about your job?
I love working with all different types of people as well as being a part of their special day. It is important to me that all of my clients feel like the best version of THEM. So I really listen to what it is they are after, and what they are comfortable in. I am a good listener and will create a look that you feel a million dollars in.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I love working for myself; after assisting high profile makeup artists and working for MAC for five years, I decided it was time to go it alone and I haven't looked back!
Why should our clients choose you?
I am reliable and professional, and fun to work with. I have ten years industry experience where I have pretty much been doing makeup every day since I started. Therefore I execute all the makeup I do to a very high standard. I am not someone who says they are a makeup artist who just happens to give it a go on the odd weekend. I have trained in my craft and it shows through my work. Having worked with various celebs and on London Fashion Week, as well as on TV , I am a reliable pair of hands. I am a full time freelancer so am very flexible and can work around you in regards to when it suits you to meet up.
