This is not just a dance academy where you can learn how to become an amazing social dancer. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, this is a place where where you can feel accepted and welcomed, and of course have loads of fun! I took a beginners bachata class with Michi and left wanting more. Michi is an outstanding teacher who is kind, patient and exudes the type of energy you seek in a dance instructor. She remembered my name when I came to class my second time and greeted me. She is not only incredibly talented, but she is the type of instructor you can feel comfortable around and feel like you have learned once you leave. Everyone who signs up for the classes are also very kind and genuine and have an equal intention to learn and have fun. The studio space feels abundant and has all the amenities you need such as locker space, bathrooms, water, free valet parking etc. Liz, of course, also obtains incredible energy and expertise! When I decided to sign up for unlimited classes, she returned my calls quickly and educated me on all things Liz Lira dance. I moved from Chicago to LA a few months ago and was nervous about getting back into dance because I didn't know if I'd be able to find a studio that was similar in their teaching values and instructor quality to the studio I was a part of in Chicago. A friend of mine then invited me to check out a salsa on1 class and I was very impressed by Liz Lira's instruction. She taught very important fundamentals such as partner connection, proper frame, center of balance, spotting, etc. A lot of credence was placed on leading and following safely and comfortably, something I feel is often glossed over but is so important.The studio has been incredibly welcoming and friendly, both in its community and its instructors. I've been happy to see the support they have for on2 classes and teams, something I have been excited about learning since Chicago and even struggled to find in Chicago. I plan to continue my dance education here for I feel confident they will cover a diverse range of dance styles from a beginner all the way to advanced level. Highly recommended! More...

After 12 years of salsa dancing including many classes and private lessons I feel very fortunate to have found Liz. Skilled and beautiful dancers like Liz are not always adept at actually teaching but Liz is exceptional at instruction. ..by far the best I have ever experienced!I believe her direction will definitely take my salsa to another level. Love this place, I started out with a 6 class pass and learned so much. I tried learning salsa from YouTube videos and didn't really get it, this place made it click. People come from all over to learn here, and everyone is so warm that it's a family atmosphere. It's such an honor to be taught by Liz Lira because not only is she an amazing and established dancer but she is a great teacher as well. She is great at explaining and breaking down the moves so that it's super easy to understand. She also really cares about all of her students which is shown through how dedicated she is to teaching them and helping them grow. I started dancing at Liz Lira's Dance Academy about 3 weeks ago. From then till now I have already experienced a tremendous amount of growth in my dancing ability and understanding. It is really amazing. I have wanted to get better at salsa dancing for a long time and have gone to different schools and I can honestly say that Liz's teaching ability is second to none. She is a truly a gifted dancer and teacher who makes learning fun. Liz really understands how to teach the fundamentals of partner dancing which I haven't found at any other school. Most schools focus on teaching steps. With Liz you do learn the steps but also the thinking and theory behind the movements which have really helped me to feel like I understand what makes one a really good dancer. I couldn't be more thankful for finding this dance academy. Liz is awesome, tons of fun and also super patient and encouraging. The students here are also super nice and supportive. Where and how do I start this review and do it justice? Liz Lira....aaaahhhh Liz Lira, my heart flutters just when I say her name or simply think of her. She might very well be an angel dancing on this earth! First, let's talk about the TALENT! Unsurpassed. Breath-taking! Finesse and it's finest! Moves like molasses. Lines, poise, and points of a prima ballerina. Spins like roulette table...spins like a microscopic sphere!!!! I could watch this woman dance the rest of my life and always be in awwwwwwweeeee! Mentor? Idol? Those are understatements. She's a goddess and a queen and I bow down!!!! World champion of the highest high. My eyes and heart can't get enough! The BEST DANCER, the MOST AMAZING TEACHER! For someone of her caliber to be so humble, kind, patient and motivating is EXTREMELY RARE! God definitely spent more time creating this one. Perfected. Liz Lira and her company is a very special situation where artistry and genuine caring for her students become one. As a dancer there is no other like Lady Liz, a true legend.
As a teacher and mentor she is so knowledgeable and giving, always sharing her experiences and talent with anyone that approaches her. As a human being she is genuine and caring, a true friend and confident, always looking out for what's best for others.
Our kids Raymond and Jenalyn are world salsa champions and early on Liz paid special attention to them and guided them along their path. Thank you alway Liz for being yourself and helping so many dancers live their dreams.

Arrive earlier to take a class that was advertised as Kizomba but it really was a Bachata/Zouk fusion (sensual Bachata)
Since i did not get the class i really went for, i treat myself taking Lucas Int level Salsa LA Style class. What a fantastic class that was! Energetic, full of content for the short amount of time that a class lasts, Great way to practice the learned steps , moves and staylings tips intructed also by Liz, plenty or partner rotations full of fun. I really felt like i was dancing the whole time .
