Describe your creative process.
With most projects we start with a creative stage culminating in 2 or 3 initial ideas. These would be developed after discussion with the client, research into competitors and brainstorming unique ways to solve the design problem. These initial ideas would then be presented to the client and after further discussion one, or parts of a couple, would be developed further into a solid final design.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Other than practical information about the project, it is very helpful to know how the client wants their product or company to be seen by the customer. Is it quirky and open or formal and serious for example. With branding projects for start-ups it's good to know all about the personalities of the founders as this will shine through in their business and is a great starting point for a sincere, unique brand. Deadlines and budgets are also much better known up front.
What do you love most about your job?
I love helping people who are starting new businesses to build a brand that they love. To help them see how unique and exciting their new adventure is and give them a strong voice to build their business with.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Working in a design agency can amazingly get a bit boring as you often end up working for only one client following strict guidelines that allow for little creativity. I prefer to work with a wider variety of clients on a bigger range of projects.

Because they are looking for a creative, professional designer but also one who is down-to-earth and understands that at the end of the day it is the client's design and the client's choice.
Brand Design
Brand design encompasses a lot more than a logo, it includes logo design, typography, colour palettes, imagery, layout style, tone of voice, etc. It provides the basis for a consistent brand look rather than just an isolated logo.
Logo Design
For us, a logo design project is the beginning of a brand design project, we can't think of the logo alone as we truly believe a brand is built of so much more. So we'll always design logos with a full brand look & feel in mind.
