Attended a single day course with my daughter where we made a rolling pin and a sword and it was fantastic fun. Alasdair is very friendly and welcoming but at the same time shares a lot of knowledge to do with carpentry. I feel like giving 5 stars isn't enough as the day was so enjoyable. More...

I have just completed a 3 day course with Little Acorn Furniture,
situated in the stunning Fingle Valley Devon. This course was highly informative and enjoyable.
Constructing a table from a suitable newly-felled log was something I had always felt was beyond my capabilities, but with Alasdair's expert tuition it all came together beautifully accompanied by many cups of tea and biscuits.

A hugely passionate and knowledgeable teacher. I learned an incredible amount in the couple of sessions I have had with Alasdair, plus made a fabulous shaving horse to take away. His enthusiasm is really infectious, I can't wait to use said shaving horse to do some green wood-working on my own! More...

Fantastic courses. Alasdair provides clear and intuitive instruction whilst allowing you the freedom to experiment and learn. An understanding of how wood/trees behave underpins his teaching of green woodworking techniques. More...

I've seen first hand how his knowledge, experience and attention to detail produce fantastic results. Working alongside him at public events I've also whitnessed his kind nature and patience whilst demonstrating / teaching his trade to a wide audience. I've since recommended his courses to friends and shall hopefully be attending one myself in the near future! More...
