Lightsha Zen has a very cozy and homey feel to it. There is something about the energy in the place that just gives out this positive vibe. As soon as you walk in, you can already feel a light, calming, soothing sensation washing over you. . I have attended about 5 yoga classes and have had the pleasure of experiencing a surprisingly entertaining and insightful Reiki session. Reiki ReviewCoolest thing ever! The session starts off with a bit of divination. You first pick out a crystal-disk. If you know about chakras, this part is more of an intention-setting exercise. You then randomly pick out a stone from a little pouch and get a quick word or two about whatever you picked. Next, you randomly grab out a rune from a different pouch. Shannon reads out the details and then gives her input on the items you've picked out.At the beginning of the session, you lie down on a crystal grid, which is basically a blanket but inside, there's a bunch of crystals positioned in a grid-like fashion. It is actually way cooler than it sounds and you literally just lay on it! Anyways, you are laying down the whole time and you are instructed to focus on your breathing throughout the experience. Once you're comfy she activates the crystal bowls. The bowls sing a pleasant sound that rings throughout your body. Shannon then goes over each of your chakra points one by one, dangling a pendulum over each of your chakra centers. She starts at the bottom, starting with the root chakra and then works her way upwards. Now, at this point, I have my eyes mostly closed for the rest of the session. Although, I can't exactly tell you what I "saw"... I can describe the impressions that I felt.Now, during the actual Reiki experience, my eyes were closed, but I could still "see" shadows and lights moving through my eyelids. At least, initially, that's what I thought they were. Just shadows and lights moving due to the external environment. After a while though, I began to question if it was normal to see a shadow that pulsed and rippled. Imagine a pond and throwing a rock into that pond and observing the ripples flow outwards... it was kind of like that!... But I figured it was nothing special and probably just visual remnants triggered by the crystal singing bowls... At one point, I became very curious because the pulsation of the shadows was still happening, long after the singing bowls had stopped... So, I opened my eyes to see what was going on... but I didn't see anything strange... so, I went back to closing my eyes... I'm thinking back and I don't remember feeling any particular physical sensations that was out of the norm... I could feel my blood flowing through my body and I mentally followed the sensations of my heart pulsing... but that wasn't anything new to me... I could feel Shannon's presence as she sat hovering over me with her hand outstretched... and I could tell whenever she repositioned herself... Come to think of it, I did feel slightly warmer than usual, but it wasn't anything too noticeable. So, other than the moving shadows pulsing that my mind was imagining everything felt pretty normal.Later on during the session, the singing bowls were reactivated... but this time I felt that the reverb had a more pronounced effect on me... I could feel the sounds criss-crossing and weaving in-between each other... I could feel the humming tingling my skin... and I felt the sound ricocheting back and forth as it traveled and penetrated throughout my body... it was a very intense feeling... and it felt even more intense as the sound reached towards my head... metaphorically speaking it felt as if my entire body was cracking into a million tiny pieces and parts of my being that were inessential were being torn to pieces and being reduced to sand... I could feel my body cycling through this feeling of tension, release, relaxation over and over again as my body frantically tried to comprehend what was happening... It wasn't painful at all... it felt like an amalgamation of being tickled, feeling goosebumps, and water flushing in short bursts of quick pulsations... after the sound subsided I laid in the bed for a short while... I got off the bed and my body ached all over... it felt like I had just had a great work out session and I was feeling a sort of post-workout-high.After the Reiki session, Shannon did a point-by-point discussion of what happened and gives me the breakdown of what she did and what happened from her perspective. She later typed up her notes and sent me shots of the pages we read during divination part. Would I do another Reiki session? Absolutely, definitely would do it again. Coolest thing ever!I really got a lot out of the Reiki session from an emotional/spiritual aspect. I know that things like that are really hard to validate but there is definitely a belief aspect to it. I felt that the runes I pulled out and that the readings that we did struck a chord with me and it gave me a lot to contemplate on. The sound healing definitely had an impact that I could actually physically feel, so if you want an experience that you could actually physically validate, I recommend doing a sound healing session. I have never participated in a yoga class. I was fortunate enough to speak with Shannon about 5 days before my 1st class to give her my concerns and limitations. Let me start by saying that Shannon is very informative !! I called to inquire and she was very thorough  and explained the different methods she does for   Chakra balancing.   This was my 1st time so I chose the one with the pendelum.  She was able to book me the following day.  My over all experience with her was amazing !   I loved how she emailed afterwards with the results , I can always go back  to read them .   I  will be sure to  recommend  Shannon to all my friends and family looking for any spiritual healing .
