I had been looking for someone to take a family photo of my daughter and myself for a while when I came across Alyssa. She had take some very beautiful pictures of a family friends wedding. Before I even met Alyssa I knew I had found a quality photographer she has such a gifted eye. And she was at a price I could afford, you get so much quality for what you pay for! When we went to our photo session she had picked a beautiful place to get some great pictures. She was very sweet and professional. It was very cold out and my daughter was wearing "fashion boots" and at some point Alyssa gave her boots to my daughter to where!
She got the edited pictures back to us super fast. And they were beautiful! I don't normally like my pictures but some how I loved every one of them.
There is nothing bad I can say about Alyssa and her company Light the Iris Photography. I have recommended friends and I even overheard some moms talking in the coffee shop and I had to let them know about her lol! More...

Alyssa has taken family portraits of us when we were a family of 3. When we became a family of 4 we saw her again. She is such a pleasure to work with and is so accommodating- needed when you have little ones! Our eldest isn't a smiler for pictures and yet Alyssa was able to capture a few smiles! She isn't afraid to be silly to get the right shots. All of our pictures turned out amazing and it was tough to choose which ones to blow up for grandparents for Christmas. We absolutely love our photos that Alyssa took for us. Not only did she squeeze us in on short notice, she worked with us to create pictures we will love for the years to come. Light the iris has been nothing but professional. I am more than a year out on my wedding, and have been weighing my options about photography. Where I expressed interest, but am far enough out that I can keep looking, LTI has kept communications open, and continued to contact me (not head hunting, or pushy, just staying in contact). Whether we go with LTI or not (and it's very likely we will) the relationship they have built has been a positive one. And they do good work to boot! Highly recommend. More...

I have been using Alyssa for the past few years to capture all the precious moments of my growing family. Without a doubt she is the most amazing photographer with a wonderful soul. She never rushes a session, she takes her time and fully understands what it's like, challenges and all to photograph young children. We were getting married in the mountains and wanted a photographer who could capture the glorious scenery surrounding us. Alyssa's pictures were breathtaking . She made us feel
comfortable and was able to work with us to create the type of images we wanted for our wedding. Alyssa went above and beyond our expectations with the locations she scouted and the editing of our pictures. All of that being said, Alyssa'a versatility as a photographer is what blew me away. We had hired other photographers in the past and even though we liked our pictures the experiences were never great. When we first met Alyssa we did not know what to expect, but after a few minutes it was like we were with an old friend! She takes the time to get the right pose and picture and doesn't rush you at all..and with kids that is a must. We loved our pictures so much that we bought a family session for our parents for Christmas. We just took those pictures and love them too! Alyssa is an incredibly talented photographer and a very good, kind woman. We were so lucky to have her do maternity and newborn sessions for us - the photos we have from those sessions are absolutely amazing! ! In addition to capturing those unforgettable moments, she also provided valuable advice to us, parents, when we most needed it (which helped our baby girl sleep better at night!)
Alyssa puts her heart into her work, and you can see this in everything she does. The photos she takes are absolutely beautiful, and most importantly, they are real. Alyssa was recommended to us by a friend as an amazing wedding photographer, and did not disappoint! She captured our day so beautifully, and knew just how to use our surroundings to make breathtaking photos of our bridal party, as well as so many amazing candids of our guests. She also was a huge help preparing for our big day! I love looking at these photos regularly. Since our wedding, Alyssa has also done our maternity photos and newborn photos. I cannot say enough good things about Alyssa and her photography. We were lucky enough to have her do a maternity session and newborn session for us. When you meet her, you feel like you've known her forever - she is extremely kind, thoughtful, creative and fun! She was so relaxed and it is plain to see that she truly loves what she does. She felt like a member of the family and she was so happy for us to be welcoming our little girl into this world.

When Alyssa came to take newborn photos she arrived with at least 6 different baskets and 10 blankets ( she also brought coffee which we desperately needed as parents of a newborn!) and we had our pick of props; she was great at recommending which would look best with our home decor. She knows what she is doing when it came to keeping our baby happy throughout the shoot, and gave us plenty of advice ahead so we knew what to expect.

We are so, so pleased with the maternity and newborn photos she took of us. They all captured the happiness and excitement and love we felt and we couldn't have found anyone better to be there to capture such important milestones in our life. More...

Alyssa and Lyla are amazing!! They did our wedding in August 2017, and the photos are amazing!! Also did our engagement photos and those were just as breathtaking. Alyssa is so kind and helpful and just made me feel so comfortable. She answered every question I had and had great ideas, and did stuff I didn't even have to ask for her to do, she just knew! You will not be disappointed with them! She was so good with telling me and my wedding party and husband how to pose for each photo and getting there attention, and just knew exactly the vision we had and how to capture it. Was great with the kids as well and getting them to stay for all the photos. I could go on and on. Wonderful photography - even for awkward, camera-shy people.

After considering many photographers for my corporate headshot, I finally chose Light the Iris Photography. There were three main reasons for this decision. First, I was impressed by Light the Iris's portfolio. From weddings, to family sessions, to corporate work, the photos appear to capture people feeling relaxed and looking their best. Second, the pricing was very reasonable. Third, and very importantly, the studio's owner and main photographer, Alyssa, made me feel relaxed and comfortable about the process from the very beginning. I'm normally awkward and uncomfortable in front of cameras. Within minutes of starting our photo session, Alyssa had me feeling at ease. Highly recommend Alyssa (and Lyla)!! Alyssa was able to capture our favourite moments from our wedding day and engagement shoot. She is so good at dealing with people (and misbehaving dogs) and makes the whole process comfortable considering how awkward posing for photos can be!

She goes above and beyond to ensure you're happy with the final product. We had ordered some photo books from her and there was a small printing error and she gave us a gift certificate for a future photoshoot to make it up to us! She is so considerate and truly cares about her clients and will do anything to make them happy!

Again, would highly recommend her and her team! We will definitely be using her for all our future special occasions. More...
