CrossFit. Strength and Conditioning facility.
I've been enjoying personal training at Liftoff CrossFit. Great group of people and nice friendly atmosphere. I've really progressed in the time there
Crossfit Gym in Bishops Stortford. Some of the best coaching I've come across, and a great community feel.
An awesome place to train.
I can honestly say the team of coaches at Lift Off are fantastic they make everyone feel so welcome whatever their ability and background! Not only are they friendly and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere they are so knowledgeable and go above and beyond to help you, they also push themselves in their own fitness which is so inspiring!
Not only are the coaches fantastic but the members are so friendly iv made so many friends everyone helps each other while making it fun and everyone truly encourages eachother! Once you try it you will be hooked forever More...
Been training at lift off almost a year now. Best gym I've ever been part of, in my life. So much progress made in just 1 year, can do things now that i thought i would never be able to. The coaches are amazing, all of them are very nice and really know their stuff, high quality coaching and programming. The community makes it more appealing, everyone is really nice and welcoming, always have a blast when I'm at the gym, feels like home. I'm really glad to be part of this gym/community. If anyone reading this and still in doubt to join, don't be, it's going to be one of the best decisions in your life. More...
I'm a team sports kinda girl, so joined liftoff as opposed to regular gyms because of the team attitude to the workouts. You just don't get that same buzz on your own that you get when you've battled through a tough workout with 13 others. What started as a way of keeping me fit during the off season has lead to me retiring from said team sport and making crossfit my main event! Just got to work out a way of retiring from my job now so I can do it full time! More...
I was a member at a traditional gym and had been finding it very difficult to stay motivated. I'd spend 2 hours going over the same old exercises without speaking to a single soul and found it impossible to book classes. After a 6 month pause due to injury, a friend told me (rather too gushingly I thought) about Liftoff so I gave it a whirl. What a world of difference! Not a mirror or ego in sight, the Liftoff community is extraordinarily "normal". I've found all the coaches to be extremely knowledgable and they get to know you personally, tailoring exercises to suit your level of fitness (very important to me as an arthritic 40 "and a few" year old). It's not easy though! You'll be challenged every time you walk through the door but will leave on a high, wondering how on earth you achieved what you did. I've gone from dragging myself reluctantly to the gym doing the same old routine, to looking forward to the next gym session and wondering if I'll be skipping, lifting, doing handstands, climbing rope or doing pull ups (and hoping to catch up for a good natter too). Thanks Liftoff for getting me in a shape that even impresses my kids More...
Crossfit polarises opinion for sure. You need to be super fit, it's an exercise cult, its just too intense and scary to get started. Well I joined Liftoff Crossfit 7 months ago age 44, badly overweight, and had carried all of these misconceptions beforehand. I couldn't have been more wrong. Within 2 weeks I was amazed by just how much fun it was and this drew me back again and again. The formula is actually simple... Take dedicated, professional & passionate coaches, small groups of people wanting to improve their health and fitness, and spice it up with ever changing exercises to keep you guessing. Throw in just a hint of competition (normally you are competing against yourself or the clock) ... and add some decent tunes!
All of a sudden that dull repetitive gym workout has become more like a team sport, with everyone cheering each other to succeed. It draws me back day after day for the pure enjoyment of it, something I can't say about any other gym I've ever joined. Plus the fact that I've gone from a 40 to 36 waist since joining is a huge bonus too!
Liftoff Crossfit has all of this and more. Come down and find out for yourself! More...

It's not just about the exercise but the people who motivate and inspire you!! Never have I ever loved creating a better lifestyle than I do with these guys. Tremendously supportive and by far the best box I have been to! More...
Great atmosphere and fantastic coaches
First class coaches who encourage and motivate you to do your best. Warm, friendly members who are very welcoming.
Decided to try crossfit a couple of years ago and LiftOff was my intro. The coaches here are fantastic and actually care about the development of the people that walk through their doors. The community is very supportive and encouraging, and the programming is accessible yet challenging. There is no comparison to a typical gym. They've got me hooked! More...
I know when people read these reviews they think they are written by family members or by people who have always been fit and find it easy! I assure you this is not the case. I have Been a member of the Lift Off Crossfit family for nearly 2 years now! it is the best thing I have ever done, everyone is so lovely! I had the usual fears of being a fuller figured girl going into the unknown! Would people look at my wobbly bits when I exercised? would I ever be able to do 10 burpees in a row! Would I slow the class down with my lack of fitnes and skills? I can assure you these concerns were completely unfounded. I have never felt more comfortable in a gym environment! If your thinking about joining, DO IT!! More...
Been a liftoff member for over a year, it's the only "gym" type place I have actually stuck too and enjoy going to. Workouts are challenging but scaling options are available so you never feel out of your depth or not included in a class workout. Level of coaching is excellent, they always encouraging and spotting where you need to improve. There is a great community feel - I have made so many new friends who are more like family to me. If I could rate this place more than 5 stars I definitely would! More...
I moved from Birmingham to Bishops Stortford about a year ago and was looking for a place that would help me get fitter and stronger. I didn't like the idea of the standard gyms where guys just go to build muscle, as I am not very self motivate. I also wanted to improve on my aerobics and flexibility and didn't feel I could motivate myself enough to do that! When I found this place, I felt it provided me with everything I needed and much more!
Brilliant coaching from a group of talented coaches, who strive to improve the training sessions on a regular basis! Everyone is made to feel welcome and part of the community. The easy to talk to coaches make it easy to discuss any issues anyone may have (i.e. Aches and pains). They are professional and helpful
They make Crossfit available to everyone of varying abilities with the many scaling options. This means that each workout is tailored to me needs rather than the collective. They also provide information on nutrition and health on the online Facebook community page to aid my workouts.
The multiple classes throughout the day allows me to choose whether to go before or after work. The small allows me to socialise whilst also feeling as if I am being trained individually.
I would recommend Lift off Crossfit Bishop stortford to everyone who is interested in fitness! More...

After being persuaded to try crossfit 7 months ago I can honestly say I'd never train in a normal "globo" gym again. The level of coaching, the difference to my fitness and the community aspect have made it almost like my second home. The crossfit you see being performed by the highest athletes at the Crossfit games can put you off , the level of fitness and of course intensity is insane -but everything you see can be scaled to suit your personal level and ability. So you could train side by side with Rich Froning or One of the Dottirs and still do the same workout at a varying level. Lift Off had given me a new mindset, a new level of fitness me a whole new bunch of weirdo friends that I wouldn't change for the world! More...
I joined Liftoff Crossfit in April 2016 after deciding that at just over 18 stone and feeling very unfit and unhealthy i had to do something. I contacted one of the coaches via the website and was invited to an informal chat with one of the Liftoff team. During this we disscussed things like my current lifestyle, job and goals i wanted to achieve, after this chat i knew without doubt this was the place to realise my goals.
The first thing that struck me on my first Workout of the day (WOD) was the welcoming atmosphere of all of the members some long standing and others fairly new, I wasn't used to this having been to normal gyms where you just get your head down and occasionally nod at someone when you cross paths.
I'm now 10 months in and i cannot get enough of Liftoff!! I am now a little over 16 stone, healthier, happier not only with my body but my confidence has grown immensly, it is an amazing place to train and socialise with so many different people. Liftoff has managed to capture a sense of togetherness within its members no matter what your ability or fitness level. The above would not be possible without the outsatnding coaching staff who given so much into making my goals possible. I could not be happier at Liftoff and cannot wait to train everyday, i never thought i would feel like that. More...
Fab training, fab community, fab people. Have never worked so hard, but then have never seen such results.
Found this gym late last year. Great community with first class coaching. Has helped me increase my strength and endurance massively whilst learning new Olympic lift movements. Crossfit workouts have also given me new targets to aim for as it is very diverse. ( no more boring repetitive training regimes)Highly recommend these guys. !!! More...

I love this place! I've been coming this last year and the changes in my body are amazing. I'm strong and fit and that's due to excellent coaching, good programming and a great community that's so supportive and fun.
High Performance Programming
Great coaching and supportive atmosphere. Clients are pushed hard but within their own limits and the focus is on correct movement. Absolutely love it here and couldn't recommend it more! More...
I've done gym work alone, with partners and with a PT but nothing compares to the support, banter and sheer intensity you get at Lift off crossfit... Want to get fit, lean and have that 'Summer Body'? Get down here and you won't be disappointed! BE WARNED... HIGHLY ADDICTIVE More...
Great welcoming atmosphere and happy people. I travel a lot around the world with my job so I need a gym/classes that I can just drop in when it suits me and this was perfect! Very good support from the coaches. I strongly recommend this place More...

Fantastic facility, coaching and programming. Great community bond who push you hard during the workout!
A place full of friendly like-minded people of all abilities, and run by coaches who are experts in strength and conditioning programming and periodisation. Emphasis is placed on safety and appropriate technique. Have proper functional fitness spoon-fed to you; just eat right and turn up to this place and it's impossible not to make gains. More...
Unlike other gyms, Liftoff has a friendly team with a friendly atmosphere that lets anyone get stuck in and feel confident about doing it. No intimidating grunting or long waits for machinery; Liftoff has lots of room for training whatever your goal. I can go in and hit the weight racks, work on technique on the floor or sign up and join in on one of the Crossfit classes. If you want to train for any goal, getting stronger, faster or weight loss, this is an awesome place to do it! More...
