This place is amazing. Tranquil, artsy office that doesn't feel like an office. Soothing and upbeat staff. Wide variety of ways they can help.
Short of chemical disorders like schizophrenia and bipolar, which you need someone with an MD for, this is the place to go if it's in your budget. And even so, counseling alongside medical treatment is never a bad choice. They can also tell you if you need to go to a psychiatrist if you're not sure.
It seems very child-friendly as well. The friends I've known who go here struggle with anything from anorexia to situational depression to self-harm to low self-esteem. I go to learn how to manage my stress.
People knock counseling, saying "If I need to talk I can find a friend." But while confiding in someone nonjudgmental is great, the best thing about counseling is that it gives you TOOLS to tackle your own problems.
Counselors know a lot about how the mind works, and the Lifeworks pros have such great attitudes. If you're ready to embark on that journey of self-help, Lifeworks is a stellar choice.
