From the moment I first called Jamie I knew instinctively I had found the right photographer for our wedding. He was the first and only photographer I spoke to. He came to meet myself and Don at our home and we also went to The Ship Monkseaton our reception venue so that Jamie could take some photos checking on the light and various locations within the Ship. I had explained to Jamie that since childhood I had never been comfortable having my photograph taken. Most photos of me in the past show a very tense, unrelaxed person. Jamie reassured me and Don that he would be able to capture our very special happy day together. He absolutely did, Jamie was a joy to work with, the weather was atrocious, monsoon like rain. Although it didn’t and couldn’t spoil our day, apparently it’s very lucky to have rain on your wedding day. Jamie made everyone feel happy and relaxed. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Its about making the subject you are photographing feel relaxed in their surrounding, helping them feel at ease so the natural side of the image is shown and not staged. There is one thing that the photograph must contain and that is the humanity of the moment. Photography is a way of capturing great feelings and long lasting beautiful memories.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The question I like to ask a new client is what would you like me to capture? is it a story, a romantic moment or simply great memories?
What do you love most about your job?
I don't see my work as a job, it's more a Passion. Capturing that special memory for a client is what I love and why I do this, there is no better feeling than seeing the look of happiness on a clients face when they receive their images, prints or albums.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My Inspiration to be a photographer began when I was working in Italy for 3 years. I decided that I would learn the guitar which went tragically wrong, so a friend of mine suggested that I buy a second hand camera which I did and began snapping away. I posted a few images on Facebook and found that people I didn't know were asking to buy my images. I was then asked to do a photo shoot for a Family which went very well, and then another family and another. Before I knew it I had around 2 families per week as well as people requesting Portraits and Head shots and Newborn photo shoots. I couldn't think of a better way to make a living than to do something that I loved doing.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I am dedicated to my client and can offer photography that is unique and special, capturing those special memories forever. I live my life with the mantra that I am always focused on what I want to achieve and have a strong sense of what I can offer to my client. Employer's want to hire people who gladly invest their time and energy into their product. Passionate people are more dynamic and bring a positive energy, so I would like an opportunity to illustrate my personality and strengths to my clients which I capture in my images.
