Today I am 5 months sober. I spent 28 days at liberty house, without which I am not sure I would be alive. On average I was dinking 2 70cl bottles of vodka and 3 bottles of wine a day. I had lost my job, I was a awful to my family (when I say awful I really mean a monster). I had not washed or changed my clothes for 2 weeks and I had taken to sleeping in my garden, garage or shed. I was in the grips of a madness and I saw no way out except death. Thankfully my son and daughter stepped in. Did some research found liberty house and thankfully I was able to pay for treatment. Liberty house arranged a sober driver to pick me up. Detox was made bearable by Librium and once the dt’s started to subside the real work started. Group meetings, one on one sessions were difficult. The worse session was when I had to listen to how my drinking affected my children. That was hard, but I am so thankful that my son was so honest, I needed to hear it! The staff are outstanding, most are in recovery themselves. They won’t let you get away with any bs. Between that and learning to meditate. Doing art therapy, sound therapy. Trying to find other ways of dealing with anxiety, depression, stress and in my case grief I have slowly found myself again. Good regular meals helped to as I had not eaten properly for months. Five months on and I am rebuilding the relationship with my kids. It’s not been easy to gain their trust as I have lied so much to them. 5 months ago I walked into Liberty House. I was skin and bone, confused, tired of everything including life and lost. 28 days later I left and my life has changed completely. I'm still married, have a loving family and group of friends and I still have my home - all things I was on the brink of losing if I hadn't found the expertise and care that Liberty House offered and delivered. I came to this website as I was trying to find the direct dial number for the office but while I was here I thought I'd take a look at the reviews before I left one of my own. I find it hard to believe one of the reviews on here - are they sure they stayed at the same place? The 28 days I spent here was the most intense experience I have ever been through. It sounds melodramatic to say they saved my life - but it's 100% fact! Everyone had their part to play, including my peers, in drumming home a positive and sometimes terrifying message which acts as the initial building blocks to my ongoing recovery.If I lived closer I would be back there every week for aftercare. Life changing experience!I thought I was being dropped off for the weekend by my wife and it turned out I was 3 weeks inside. . Well Thank God and Liberty house for their skills and patience and persistence in a solid recovery. I owe them my life and my sanity and all the good things that have come of sobriety. It's a 12 step rehab with fantastic councellers and structured learning. I am a very happy camper and i'm in the AA fellowship and work my programme daily. Well firstly I need to start with a massive amount of gratitude for Liberty house and each and every member of staff that worked there during my stay at liberty house from may2017 till August 2017! You helped save my life!! My experience here was amazing, the place was clean the rooms very nice! But those things are secondary too the treatment I received! The councillors were amazing they helped me with so much stuff from my past, the carnage that I had caused throughout my 30 year addiction! The support staff were always on hand to help n talk to me share experiences with me! The food was amazing too! I came into treatment weighing 6 3/4 stone and left just over 11 stone! I was literally waiting to die before I got into treatment but I still believed I was alright! They taught me n took me through the big book ov alchaholics Anonymous and the 12 step program and Liberty house integrated me into the rooms ov 12 step fellowships where I remain a very happy grateful recovering addict some 13 months on!We spent evenings playing games having fun something which I had lost the ability to have! I even sung kareoke clean and sober! I attend aftercare at liberty house each week and it’s beautiful to see the new clients begin to look hopeful that the can also become abstinent from drugs,drink,gambling or whatever there addiction may be! My life is so far removed to what it once was and this is down to liberty house! They gave me the tools I needed to live a life that’s worth living! To aim to achieve things I thought I couldn’t! Here's what Liberty House and its staff have done for someone who 35 odd days ago was lost & hopeless 25 yr drug addict with not the first idea of how to fix it. Coming through the place has given me an in-site into the mental side of addiction that i just didn't have before - Its given me more than a start at understanding what i was doing and why i was doing it. The facilities are fine, the food is great and they will even do your washing if you are not up for it. Things are done for a reason in this place It is not a 5 Star hotel. A bit of washing up/free time is all part of it.But really for your recovery the facilities are not all that important. The important thing for me was the People that work there and the environment and mindsets they helped create, weather it was in the group sessions, a little chat to pick you up or the one 2 one's, they were first class all the way through. It was made clear to me by them that i could use their time, any time to aid me in my recovery. To hear someone say that meant so much to me. I'd never talked about my addiction before LH and doing this with both staff and other peers has helped massively, i can now see some light, at the very least it's given me the start i couldn't get outside rehab but really i think it's saved my life. I owe everything to Liberty House.I went into there 10 months ago an absolute wreck and I truly believed that I could never get better. I was an everyday heavy user of cocaine and an alcoholic.After the first week in there which I'm not going to lie was pretty bloody hard everything started to get better.The place was nice and the food and facilities were very pleasant.I owe so much to all the staff starting at Costa who was the person who showed me in on my first day to my councillor Steve.i we very wary about having group sessions rather than one to ones but I know deep down they were the best thing for me..I'm 10 months clean and sober and feel Absolutely amazing and as I've said before liberty house saved my life More...

I am a parent who like many others are not fully aware of our children’s goings on in their lives as they are very secretive when they are adults . My son had a terrible addiction to alcohol and drugs and it came to light a few weeks ago. No parent wants their child to go through hell and I was watching my son going through exactly that . My ex wife and myself just did not know what to do with the current situation out of control the family as we knew it was crumbling and his brother and sisters were absolutely distraught with fear about losing a loved one . I had heard about liberty house and what they done for people On a TV programme and when I rang liberty house they enlighten me about what would happen and how they will treat our son. We made a decision and he was more than willing to get rid of his Demons, the residential stay was for two weeks and in that time he realised the error of his ways he is now back at home happy and content living he’s life again. In recognition of his stay at liberty house he is going to a tattooist next week to write on his body the prayer which embodies everything the staff have done for him . Like many others, rehab was the last place I wanted to be with death being the first. If it wasn’t for the help of liberty house I would not have ever known there was a life beyond drink and drugs. i came into Liberty House angry and resentful that my wife had given me the ultimatum to do treatment or leave. The staff there got me settled in my room which was surprisingly bright and spacious and i saw the doctor early who started me on my detox . My peers and all staff supported me through this physical and emotional time with love and compassion.
I started to look at what was truly going on for me and started to see that i was worth something as i was destroying myself.
With all the therapists hard work , as i was a right pain , i started to heal.
I started to build my strength up , the chef was outstanding which helped.
I completed my treatment and i cant believe that i have been 6 MONTHS clean and sober now .
I owe a massive gratitude to Liberty House Clinic and all the staff there as they truly saved my life.
Thank you Liberty House from my wife , as she has her old husband back , and a bigger thank you from my 3 kids who have their father back

Just wanted to say thanks to the Liberty House Clinic team, I did not want to go to rehab but my partner and friends made me. All the Liberty House team, especially Des and Mikey helped me so much. I was there for a long time in the end but i am doing really well now. Can't thank you enough for everything.
