I am from Brazil and migrated here a while ago. I am married to the most wonderful man. I have always been interested in skin care and beauty. I heard from my husband for many years about Lia Schorr and I decided to come meet her and I was immediately inspired. I liked her energy and her accomplishments and her knowledge. The ambiance of the institute really suited me because it is small classes, very personable, high-standard education, with a very involved owner who guides us through the industry. I went here for the 600 hour esthetics course. I traveled about an hour to come to this school because I have heard great things and was recommended to this school. The teachers here are great and they are always making sure you fully understand everything. Lia is a great business woman she’s always pushing people to do better and her teachers are very knowable! OMG!! It was such an amazing experience! I don’t know how they do it! We travel all the way from south New Jersey to attend our classes. They are very professional and so loving at the same time! Very flexible with all our needs and made sure we got the most out of our education. Thank you, Lia and staff for all your assistance!!! I just graduated from the Lia Schorr Institute. I am so excited ! I was worried before starting that my English was not advanced enough to take the Esthetics course but the principal, teachers reassured me that I can take the course and they will guide me. I would like to recommend this school due to the fact that I learned so much, my English has improved. I was a good student. From my first day, the school was an amazing experience for me. I discovered my passion for skincare while studying at the school. Best school ever. I would never change my experience in this place by anything. The teachers were so passionate about what they were teaching us. Love the teachers and the staff. I went in expecting to only learn about the basics of Esthetics...but left learning more than I expected. Ms. Dee, Effie (Esthetics) and Heidi (makeup) are phenomenal instructors. They are thorough, compassionate and most importantly patient with the students. We learned things outside of textbook study which provided more inspiration and motivation to excel in this field. Lia herself is a tough but very passionate leader who only wants to bring out the best of her students. Jennifer is thorough administrator and a big help with my financial situation. The school is flexible and will work with pretty much any time/financial situation so that the student can get the most out of their studies without much stress. I have always had an avid interest for the field of esthetics. Even though I live in Canada I wanted to have the Esthetics license from NYS. After a lot of on line research and calls, I came across the Lia Schorr institute . I was immediately inclined to fly to New York and meet with Lia and I'm so happy I did. Lia's name resonates in the beauty industry not just in the United States but internationally. She is indeed a stellar and acclaimed personality in the beauty industry and this clearly reflects in the school which she runs. The environment is quite conducive for learning. I’m a former student from Lia Schorr Institute graduated back in 2012. I have my license in esthetics and I came back to Lia Schorr Institute school to continue my education. I registered myself for the Microblading 2-day course with instructor Miss. Sepi. This is a great school to attend for esthetics, advanced esthetics, makeup classes for fashion, theatre and more. The classrooms are very intimate and you will be able to learn from the instructors and your peers. Miss. Deborah and Miss. Sepi are my former instructors. They are both great! Love this place. Loved my one on one experience with instructor Ms. Effie at the Lia Shorr Institute. I went in for the 75 hour Waxing Course. Ms. Effie was so patient during our lectures in explaining all there is to know about the skin, cleanliness and so much more. I was able to get a lot of practice with hair removal which was important for me. Thank you to the models that allowed me to practice on them. I am leaving feeling confident that I will pass the New York State licensing exam and that once I am working in the industry I was indeed instructed by the best. I recently graduated from Lia Schorr and already my career is starting off in the right direction. Because of her credibility and connections I've been given many opportunities for a job. She is also so flexible and does her best to work with her students. She understands that we have lives and tries her best to find a schedule that works best for us. Shes a little old fashioned so she tries to instill the fundamentals in all each of her students and for all of this I'm extremely grateful. Lia Schorrs staff is just as amazing. i just graduated from Lia Shorr institute, with my esthetician certificate and i am going for my license asap. i choose this school because i heard it was well-known and i wanted a school that can represent me in a positive way. with Lia Shorr^s credentials i knew this had to be the school for me. i felt like everyone had so much knowledge about the industry and was well educated in the field of skin. this school was an amazing experience, from all the teachers being very patient, out going, detail and hands on and making sure that you understand the lectures giving.
