I came back 10 years later and their hoagies still are some of the best around! I used to live in this area about 10 years ago and looked  forward to my weekly hoagie that was either turkey, tuna, or a cheesesteak. Then I moved to Florida... Today, I had some business in the area and came back AND THEY REALLY MAINTAINED THEIR HOAGIE SUPERIORITY!!! The staff was friendly and pleasant. The place was clean as a whistle, as usual. This time I got a tuna hoagie with the works and couldn't even eat the whole thing. Can't ask for better customer service! Shortly after ordering, I received a call from a pleasant and patient young lady who wanted to confirm my child's order. On a busy Saturday night, I wouldn't expect a call from a sub shop to confirm my order. They could easily deliver exactly what I ordered and if it was wrong, I would accept the responsibility. Yet, the young lady on the phone explained that sometimes customers order a cheese sandwich when they intend to order a grilled cheese sandwich. She explained the difference, and because I certainly had made that error, I asked my son for his preference.When I thanked the caller for taking the time to confirm my order, she stated that "they" just wanted to make sure customers get what they want and are happy. Then, she wished me a Merry Christmas. I couldn't be more happy and our food hasn't even arrived yet. But, based on past experiences, I'm not the least bit worried about what we'll receive. Lee's Hoagie House is a solid hoagie joint, and I am from South Jersey and the type of person who orders a hoagie when they're "feeling blue" instead of ordering sweets or pizza, so you can trust me on my hoagie recommendations. The bread is soft. The ingredients are fresh. The menu has options for everyone. It's solid.On this trip, we used grubhub and my boyfriend accidentally ordered his hoagie as a salad. Lee's didn't call to ask for clarification. They made a hoagie salad (complete with sides of mayo and Lee's special oil mixture) and when we got there, they asked if that was right. It wasn't, so they made us a fresh hoagie but then also gave us the hoagie salad anyway because it was close to closing and probably no one was going to order that. A phone call to clarify the order before we got there would have been the better experience from a customer service/time perspective but haaaay free hoagie salad!! Also, I might order one of those in the future because it looked delicious with cute little hoagie meat rolls (did not get a photo, sorry).I will note that this location does not accept the Verizon Up coupons (or probably any coupons that didn't come from this location). I love Lee's Hoagie House.  It's the closest to NYC hero's.  Yes, I said hero.  In NYC they're called hero's.  LolThe bread makes a large portion of the taste of the entire sandwich, although it's not perfect Astoria Bakery hero bread it's the closest around here. I love their Italian and Cheese steaks w/ hot peppers.  But if you're ever in the LGA area look up Sal, Kris and Charlie's Deli.  Get either The Bomb (fully loaded) or the Italian Combo.  You won't regret it! So I'd probably agree more along the lines of 3.5 stars, but in a battle between 3 and 4 on this place, I lean towards the 4. So this is a nice little spot on 11th. It's a little hole in the wall. Clean interior. I've tried a few sandwiches. I like the bread since it's soft, slight pull to the crust with a decent chew. My friend has two newborn babies so whenever I visit her, I stop by Lee's and pick us up food. I love a good cheesteak and this place does not disappoint. In fact, I want to try other items on menu but I keep going back to same thing. Good variety on menu for toppings, protein choices and sides. Old Bay fries had too much seasoning and too salty but I should have realized that since Old Bay is quite salty. Will stick to regular fries next time or branch out and try the potato salad that people say is good. Highly recommend you give it a try! I don't get the bad reviews for this place.  Ordered for pickup and it was ready in 10 mins with oil on the side as instructed.  I had the American and Italian.   Both delicious and the bread had just the right amount of chew.  I think it had the perfect meat to bread ratio.  I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area! UPDATE; I just ordered and received the order perfectly. The management here has always been concerned about their quality and apparently they've made changes, I've always thought they were the BEST Philly Hoagie, it seems they've straightened past issues out.
