Just bought THE healthiest, most beautiful plants from Lee's (neon pothos) and I saw a ton more plants I'd love to own. The pots, planters and accessories were also really nice. We talked to a variety of florists before choosing Lees Flowers. Stacie, the owner, took the time to sit down with us and really create our vision. Coupled by the fact they are a local longstanding business on U St and their very reasonable prices, Lees was the perfect choice for our flowers.

Cant wait to go back! I looooved that I was able to create my own bouquet for my mom, and she raved about them for weeks!! ! They arranged them for me so beautifully, and put that special Lees flowers touch on them too! I almost didnt want to give them away! :)

Lee's Flowers is an institution in DC and one that is well worth patronizing. Although I have patronized it in the past, I often defaulted to buying flowers on line when needed. However, I made a point of going in the shop not too long ago after receiving the most wonderful card from my daughter.
It was an extremely unique and moving card and one that I have not seen elsewhere. I wanted to buy a similar card for my mother. Upon going into the shop I was greeted by the most pleasant ambiance. The shop was newly renovated with a variety of interesting plants, flowers, vases, etc.
It was sleek and inviting, and the young lady at the register was really helpful.
I not only found a wide range of cards, but to my surprise they carried skin and hair products by one of my favorite brands (Zuresh). Needless to say I have gone back frequently.

I am a 3rd generation Washingtonian. It was such a delight to go into Lee's Flowers and Card Shop, a long standing African American owned business that has weathered the changes on U Street and is as competitive or more than any flower or specialty card shop in DC or elsewhere.
If any one is wondering whether this is a real review. It is. I do not write reviews of businesses too often. But Lee's deserves it. If you doubt it, check out the flower happy hour on Friday afternoons where you can buy items at a discount. You'll see! More...
