I really enjoyed this course, Rebecca was a brilliant Tutor explainining everything in as much detail as was required and answered all questions. I attended RJ Sewing School this week and made a clutch bag and barbour bag. I can't recommend these classes enough. The school is in a great setting and Rebecca is just lovely, full of knowledge and very patient! The bags I created look so professional. I left feeling inspired and had lots of new skills to boot. I have never made a bag in leather, only ever made a simple fabric tote.
I booked the 2 day course and with Rebecca teaching, help and patience, I manage to make a small back pack, learning new skills, although I still find zips difficult! Had a great time and would recommend to everyone More...

Learning with Rebecca was such a joy. I've had several poor experiences before this when it came to bag making (rushed experience, instructor cancelled last minute etc. ) so I was a little apprehensive about signing myself up for a full 2-day course. But boy did I not regret it.

Under Rebecca's tutelage, I learnt so much about:

-principles of bag making
-how to avoid rookie mistakes
-how to experiment and be creative
-how to be precise in measuring and cutting (VERY important!!)

Rebecca was just an excellent teacher. She was concerned that we were all taking away something while having fun. It's a balance she got exactly right. Even while making bags on my own after the course, I find myself rethinking and applying what was taught by Rebecca.

Thanks so much, Rebecca, for being encouraging, and for being the kindest host/teacher. Thanks for going the extra mile, and for going out of your way to impart your VAST knowledge of bag making to all of us. More...

I had the greatest pleasure working with Rebecca two years ago, where she taught me and furthered my skills, I'm still making bags. I have just worked with Rebecca again at an advanced level. Amazing teacher has taught me so much I'm forever greatful for here knowledge and experience. Never having worked with leather I took the plunge and booked onto one of Rebecca's courses. I've previously made fabric bags so this was the next step for me. When I arrived at her workshop, which is in a beautiful setting alongside water, I had no idea what to expect or how to design a bag from scratch. Rebecca walked us through the design process and the making of a bag pattern. Then she very carefully and patiently helped us to make our bags. I was a little nervous initially sewing on an industrial sewing machine, but Rebecca is so calm , patient and confident she made the whole experience fun. I am now the proud owner of my own designed leather bag.... I'm totally hooked on working with leather. The whole process is amazingly satisfying. Rebecca took time to help me source more leather and explained clearly how I could make a different bag at home, offering me any help should I require it. Rebecca is a lovely lady, very calm in her teaching and very helpful with any questions or techniques when asked. The pace of the day is relaxing , no one feels rushed and Rebecca takes time with each and everyone.
