What makes a great website?
A great website is entirely dependent on the purpose of the website. If you want to entice and keep readers as part of an affiliate marketing process, then great content is an absolute must. If you own an e-commerce website, then attractive and enticing pictures that advertise your products will be necessary. If you are a tradesperson, then having call to actions such as entry forms or clickable phone numbers will be a fast CTA.
You will also want your site colours to match your overall brand, and have engaging pictures throughout. But you also want to ensure the site itself is completely optimized for the target keywords you want to rank for, and have enough power to rank for secondary keywords you hadn't targeted.
Ensuring your website is mobile optimised is also a great way to bring your rankings up, while increasing the overall use for those who are engaged on your website.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The first question is always what keywords they want to rank for, and how they want to be found. Knowing how clients want to be found for by their customers and what products or services they are most interested in selling is very important to ensure the client is making the highest ROI.
I would also want to know their expectations for ranking. How quickly they would want to achieve results, how quickly they expect to receive milestone goals, etc. Tempering realistic expectations are important to ensure the client isn't being offered false promises.
What do you love most about your job?
I love achieving results more than anything. Ranking a customer and ensuring they achieve a high ROI is always important. I also enjoy achieving results sooner than expected. When a certain project is achieved faster due to a great job and variables working within your favour, it's much more rewarding.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Knowing that I have the skillset to rank websites and achieve client results from my years within the SEO industry. After ranking hundreds of websites, it's difficult not to feel that you have a skillset and a process that you can start your own business with.
