Amazing food and great atmosphere! The truffle fries and tuna tartare are delicious! The Hawaiian Kalua Pork with coconut rice is one of my favorites, and my family loves the flat-iron steak with chimichurri. I like the variety of different kinds of food on their menu. The Lavalicious chocolate was good but could have more "lava" and richer chocolate flavor. More...

This place always has phenomenal food, but slow service. I have learned to work around the service by paying for my meal as it is delivered to me. Today I had the lobster bisque for $13 and I added the side sandwich but substituted the cheese sandwich with ham for $9. The lobster bisque has great, large chunks of lobster, and a delicious flavor. The sandwich should've had something other than ham added to it, but it still somehow ended up delicious and I dipped it into the bisque throughout the meal. The meal was $27 with tip. More...

Wow how have we not been here before. It's a very lively atmosphere. It can quite noisy but fun and the kids loved it too. The service was great and the food is delicious. The short rib was absolutely perfect. The servers made it fun for the kids and they loved their meals. They also have live music which makes dinner fun. We will be back. More...

After years of driving past this place and thinking it was something else, I decided to stop in for breakfast. Delicious little spot. They do have their own small parking lot which helped a bit since the parking on 101 is always tight. Inside and outside and tables, open and airy on the inside due to large oversized windows. The service was quick and friendly and the order came out hot and right. I had the corned beef hash and eggs. Everything was cooked correctly and the portion was more than enough. It was served with a slice of fresh french bread. The menu has a lot of great items on it including what looked like some delicious burgers as well. I plan to come back soon and explore their deliciousness a little more. More...

I came here while a friend was in town and loved this joint. It seems bigger in person and has more classy foods than what I would have expected. The prices were fair, service was great, but it still had this wonderful ambiance. There weren't any live music while I dined but I remember reading that they have live music (not sure if they do anymore.) More...

One word- Potato Cakes! Omg! So good I crave them!We enjoyed the beautiful weather and drove along the coast looking for a cute little place to have brunch on a Sunday morning. We found this gem! Pros:- The restaurant has a great environment and fun atmosphere. The patio has plenty of heaters. - The staff was great - fun, nice, and funny. - The food was very good. The potato cakes were so good!!Cons:- The coffee is just ok . . . diner-like vs trendy, like the restaurant. Disappointed. In the area? Stop by. You will love it. More...

Such a great place! Cool decor inside, seating inside and outside with heaters all over and best of all...the food is very good. My wife ordered Eggs Benedict and I went with the Chilaquiles with a green Sauce. Both were very good. Service was fantastic as well. There were families, couples and small groups of all ages. Definitely a local hangout and was getting busy around 9:00. Wish I lived closer so we could go back sooner. More...

Yummy food, full bar, plenty of wine choices, & live music! It’s a fun atmosphere & can get busy & pretty loud, but the place is pretty big so you can request to sit in a quieter area if you like. I recommend reservations, especially for busy nights (Thurs-Sun). The service is GREAT! We always have the nicest, most attentive servers. The live music is so good!! I’ve never been disappointed by the bands. Highly recommended for a fun, casual, delicious, music-filled night out. More...

Still love this place. Everyone at the table raved about their food. The salads are huge so take that into account. They can easily be shared. I had the scallops which were perfectly prepared and fresh. This place also has a pretty cool vibe all day long from breakfast until closing. The open bar and outdoor seating are fun. Found this little gem in the heart of Leucadia. It just has that old school charm about it that speaks to the laid back vibe of the community. Arrived for dinner and ordered the calamari and baby back ribs for appetizers and it packs a punch of flavor! So good! My husband and I have been eating at Le Papagayo for about 10 years and it is our favorite restaurant in Encinitas. The service is really fantastic. The servers are friendly, attentive and accommodating. On most nights the manager stops by our table to check in and make sure we're happy (not because we are some special guests... just seems they are committed to good service). A couple nights ago we went to Le Papagayo to celebrate our anniversary. Our server, Marco, noticed our anniversary cards on the table and brought us a dessert! Wow! So thoughtful and a really fun surprise. The food is amazing... we have tried quite a few dishes over the years and always been happy. A couple not-to-be-missed highlights are the red sangria, which has rich flavors of berries and spices, and the bread basket with pesto, which has a wonderfully strong basil flavor.I also really enjoy the warm, casual atmosphere and decor. Very beautiful but still relaxed. Thanks Le Papagayo! More...

10/21/19: here with family who are visiting from Houston. My husband decided he wanted us to come down here so they could try the flourless tacos. We bragged and bragged about them so much. We were seated quickly and Marco our server came over immediately and introduced himself. We asked if we could order them since we could not find them on the menu. Marco said they were only available during happy hour but would check. Unfortunately they wouldn't fix them for us. oh well. He tried. We have never been here for dinner So, we needed to had to regroup and figure out what else to get. ---------------------------------------------The most incredible carne Asada tacos with shells made out of cheddar cheese!!! At first glance, Le Papagayo doesn't look like anything special: small Spanish plates with some nebulous application of New World Latin influences. All served in the funky charm of Leucadia. But make no mistake, Le papagayo is making its mark on our community- with it's eclectic tapas and live nightly entertainment; Le Papagayo has become a local tapa staple. The menu takes traditional Mediterranean cooking and applies a decidedly modern spin. Menu highlights include roasted beet and tomato caprese, honey spicy shrimp, champagne vinaigrette diver scallops and macadamia nut pesto muscles. Soak up the evocative Art Deco-style interior and enjoy a cocktail, particularly during happy hour, when sangria are two for the price of one. More...

Came up to Encinitas for the weekend and one of our friends recommended this place as we love live music. We knew there would be a wait on a Saturday night as many restaurants don't take reservations. While we were waiting we realized this restaurant DOES take reservation, which we will do next time. Props to the hostesses! I was impressed with how they handled all the "privileged" requests and demands. Many of the people interacting with these ladies were rough and plain rude, yet the young women handle themselves and filtered well. I would have lost my job in the first 15 min interacting with some of these "do you know who I am" type of people.Anyways... 30 min later we were seated in the furthest corner from the music. My bad as I should have requested the seating, but the hostesses were dealing with other requests. We sat outside under the kites and outside lighting that was well done. Great vibe outside. We started with drinks, the MaiTai, and a spicy watermelon margarita, so good! Moved on to 2 apps, mussels (original) and buffalo wings. Mussels were on point. Wings, meh. I would go with something else next time.We split dinner, chicken satay w coconut rice. YES! so good. The server was super helpful and on top of our meal and drinks & checking in with us.I wish we could have heard the music as that is why we were there, but next time I will make a reservation for closer seating. We will be back for sure! More...

Second time coming here. Super legit service and food. We had a cell phone drop between some Uber hard place between a built in seat and wall. The manager and staff rallied to help us find a way to get it back. I was impressed at the willingness to assist and how extremely polite each of them where. It was in the midst of a packed house and many moving parts. Not only do I love the prime rib but the staff is second to none. Do yourself a favor and hit this place up. You'll be stoked ! More...
