Sarah was the photographer we chose for our wedding, and I am so pleased we decided to use her she was amazing! We first met Sarah at our friends wedding in Vegas where she was the photographer and hit it off with her right away, a year later when we go engaged she was top of our list to capture our special day. On the run up to the wedding Sarah was always on hand to answer any questions and make sure we were all set to the big day. We had a lovely pre wedding shoot which gave us the chance to get a bit more relaxed behind the camera, and catch up with Sarah to make sure we had made a note of the family / friend photos we wanted. She held our hand through the whole process and put us at complete ease. On the day Sarah went above and beyond to make sure we were all ok and fitted in like part of our family, even helping my mum and bridesmaids with doing up my dress. She was brilliant, and so thoughtful throughout. When we saw the photos we were over the moon, Sarah really captured the beautiful, relaxed day we had and we now have her gorgeous photos to hold onto. Words cannot describe how incredible Sarah is! From our first meeting down to our wedding, it has just been amazing and it's great to know we have made a fun friend after it all! We booked Sarah for our wedding day back in July, she captured our day absolutely beautifully - making sure she got the bridal party and the groomsmen all getting ready, the ceremony, the venue (before anyone had been in), canapés & drinks reception, speeches, first dance, cake cutting and evening reception. She has some wonderful ideas we would never have even thought of - we loved our first touch & dip. It was like having a friend there to help walk you through the day, Sarah put us both completely at ease and took the reins when we needed her to (confetti shoot & group shots). What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
When taking photographs of people, the main thing is to ensure you capture the real moments and emotions as well as the personalities.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Particularly with weddings, it's important to get to know the couple: find out where they met, how he /she proposed, what they want from the wedding overall, who the most important people are within the guest list and the type of photos they like best. I also encourage my couples to take advantage of the complimentary pre-wedding shoot that I offer so they can feel more comfortable in front of the camera on the day and I know how best to shoot them.
What do you love most about your job?
I love weddings, I love photography and I love getting to know people so being a wedding photographer is absolutely my dream job! I think my favourite moment of every wedding day is when the couple see each other for the first time at the ceremony - the expressions on their faces vary so much and it makes for some amazing photographs. I'm also a sucker for a confetti shot!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started working for myself about 6 years ago, I wanted full creative control and to be able to manage my own time and workload. It was the best decision I made and I am so proud of the photographs that clients receive after their big day.
Why should our clients choose you?
I genuinely love what I do, I care about every single wedding and all the people in it which means I can capture moments in quite a unique way. I blend in easily with other wedding guests which allows me to take great natural shots but I have also been known to use my shouty voice to co-ordinate large group shots when necessary :)
Wedding photography
A friendly and fun approach to wedding photography ensures that your big day is captured as it unfolds while you just enjoy the celebrations. Traditional couple portraits and family shots are included alongside detail shots of all the elements of your big day and candid photos of the bridal party and guests.
Portrait photography
Couples, family and baby photoshoots are available at my studio or in the location of your choice which can include your home or the great outdoors. I also offer maternity photoshoots, 'smash the cake' shoots and 'rock the frock / trash the dress' post-wedding shoots.
