Lavender & Sage Photography

We would not hesitate to recommend Mel to any new parents. She photographed both of our newborn daughters, took a beautiful photo for personalised first Christmas cards, and her husband photographed our wedding. While we are local we will always try to come back to Lavender and Sage.
The gentle and calm way that Mel works meant that both of our babies slept through their entire sessions, we were never in any doubt of their comfort or safety, Mel ensures that they are supported throughout.
There is no rush, our most recent session lasted upwards of three hours, we left knowing that we had 'got' the images we wanted. The guides provided before the session and the questionnaire were very straight forward and reassuring, especially the colour choice option, and the clothing guidance!!
The entire session was very relaxed, when our two year old got a bit bored and fussy there is a park behind the house where she went to blow off some steam before coming back for family photos.

I absolutely loved the photos and loved working with the lavendar and sage team and i would highly recommend them to everyone. We had a maternity and a newborn session and these guys were brilliant. We adored each and every photo they took and had to get them all! They were so patient with our son in his newborn session as he was just under two weeks old and they did not rush it. Our friends and family were in awe of the images, with even a photographer friend saying that he was impressed. They now have pride of place around our house.
From the outside an average family home, on the inside a very comfortable home studio. We were there 3-4 hours with our little boy, were made to feel very at ease and Mel was incredibly gentle and patient throughout.

I would highly recommend Lavendar & Sage photography to anyone looking for a newborn photo shoot. Mel answered all my questions prior to the session and sent a comprehensive guide so I knew what to expect on the day. Both she and Sam were very welcoming and made the session both relaxing and enjoyable, allowing me the time to breastfeed as required without any pressure to rush the shoot. Mel took the time to ask what colours and props I would like in our session meaning the finished photos are more than I could have asked for. They are perfect and will be treasured by our families; we have so many wonderful images I will struggle to decide which to display.  I wouldn't hesitate to return to Lavendar & Sage for future photo shoots. I recently had a newborn session with Mel after searching the net for a photographer who could meet my requirements and I'm pleased to say Lavender & Sage ticked all the boxes! Our session together was so serene, my daughter was 14 days old and Mel has the patience of a saint as it took a while for baby to cooperate but we got there eventually and the results absolutely beautiful!! My 4 year old daughter also joined us and was quite fussy about what she wanted and Mel was very considerate and helped with compromising the shots with her. The newborn sessions are truly baby led and I was very comfortable and happy with how Mel handled the session, that happy I'm already booked in for my second one!! I highly recommend L&S to anybody in need of a highly professional photo shoot as these girls are the best. The studio is lovely and there is a nice variety of props from headbands and cheesecloths to baskets and throws.
