Laura Livingston helps her clients transform their lives through hypnotherapy. Whether it's processing a traumatic experience, reducing stress and anxiety, navigating a major life transition, or increasing your overall wellness (e.g., lose weight, stop smoking, develop healthy habits), Laura's work will help you to make a major change in your life.
Laura approaches hypnotherapy with a 'transpersonal' style. This means that she empowers you to access the part of you that knows how to heal. This part of you - often referred to as your center, your higher self, inner wisdom, your true self, your core - is all-knowing, supportive, nonjudgemental, and only has your best interests at heart. Accessing this part during a hypnotherapy session is truly powerful and life-changing.
Laura supports clients with a range of goals and challenges, however she specializes in two areas:
1. Stress and Anxiety Reduction and Management - As a former corporate employee of 18 years, Laura is intimately familiar with the experience of stress and anxiety. She works with clients in many ways to address this sometimes debilitating issue. You may know the source of your stress on the surface, but there are likely underlying sources that you may not be aware of. Laura will help you to work through finding the source so that you can address your stress and anxiety directly. She is also well-versed in many stress reducing techniques that can help you manage your response to specific stressful situations, and over time, it's possible to change your relationship to stress altogether. The types of techniques beyond hypnotherapy that may be incorporated into these sessions include: basic yoga poses and breath work, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping), chakra balancing, managing your energetic boundaries, and Reiki.
2. Wellness - Laura helps people to improve their overall health and wellness. Most often, this includes helping clients with weight-loss and smoking cessation. It can also include any wellness goal that a client has. A few examples include: managing intake of certain foods (caffeine, sugar, processed foods), decreasing cravings, finding motivation to eat healthier, finding motivation to cook, increasing exercise regime, finding motivation to get to the gym. For those clients interested in full-scale support of their weight-loss or wellness journey, Laura partners with a Health and Wellness Coach to provide a 3-month program. The program includes coaching from both practitioners, food and exercise coaching, as well as hypnotherapy support.
Laura provides a complimentary phone consultation to new clients. During this call, you can discuss your specific circumstances and learn how Laura would approach your goals with hypnotherapy. If you are new to hypnotherapy, this is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
Laura also provides Reiki to those clients in the San Francisco Bay Area.
