As a professional photographer for over 3 decades, Jim Landers has the experience. But he also has the formal education; Jim earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography in 1991 and is one of a small number of photographers in San Antonio with a four year degree in photography.

I took the Photography 101 class in June 2018. It was exactly what I needed as a person with a DSLR camera that didn't know how to use it. I recommend this class as an investment that follows your purchase of a nice camera because there are so many functions and options that I never would've touched on had I not taken this class! Thanks Jim! More...

Jim Landers and his staff and assistants were incredibly flexible, very attune to the surroundings and opportunities that were being presented and most of all he cared about what me and my future spouse wanted to remember about our wedding and they tried to capture that for us.
I definitely believe that you get what you pay for and definitely believe that we got that and more from his services. I definitely recommend Lander's Photography.

In the Fall of 2014 I took a class at the Landers Photography school. At this point I had been in business for 6 years and I was struggling still. I was overworking myself and yet still barely making a profit. I was tired and worn down and as much as I loved being a photographer I had to get a grasp on the business and make it work, I mean really work or it was time to throw in the towel. Going through the class was an experience and I left transformed. I went in having no clue how I could charge the rates I needed to in order to adequately run my business and by the time I finished the course I had a solid plan on what I needed to do and how to do it. It’s now been over a year since I took the course and my business is in a much MUCH better place and I am so much happier running it. He gives you the tools and knowledge to succeed. I left with a whole new mindset and the confidence to implement the changes in my business after I completed the course. Jim was a wonderful instructor and it’s evident he really cares about his students, the industry and photography. More...

I recently needed a photography studio rental space for a quick portrait session in San Antonio. Â (I am a photographer in Austin) When I phoned Jim his personality really stuck out for me. Â He was warm, friendly, and very knowledgable. Â When we arrived he was present and more than willing to help me in any way. Â I am mainly a natural lighting photographer, camera flashes, or a steady light and do not work with many remote triggered high power strobes but Jim was more than happy to help me set up his strobes & trigger for my camera. Â Super bonus points! Thanks Jim!Kelly Wendt Photography More...

I have used Jim Landers for several different occasions and he is definitely the BEST in San Antonio. Â He supplied photos of my sales staff that made everyone look amazing. Â He also photographed my family and he spent many hours retouching the photo to make each of us look just right. (For example, my son had pink-eye which Jim removed, he removed my double chin and a few winkles on my mom). Â I always go to Jim for my professional portrait that everyone ALWAYS compliments. Â He and his staff are always courteous and professional and his prices are very reasonable. Â You'll be very happy with his work! More...

We did our Santa pictures and they came out amazing! Their prices were reasonable and add-ons were very affordable! We took our 2 year old and 5 month old and the best part was the customer service. The Santa was so friendly and Mr Landers was the photographer and he was so amazing, patient, and nice to our children. We had a terrible experience last year with a different studio and can guarantee that we will be doing repeat business with them. More...

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to creating a great portrait is CARING enough to take the time to sit down with your client days before the photography session to plan the goals and the process. Any photographer can show up and press the button -even your neighbor can do that. So the difference between a person who presses a button and an honest, caring photographer, comes from knowing your client, finding out what they want, and planning a path to get there.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is most important to you about [whatever it is that you want photographed]?
Why should our clients choose you?
Here are just a few of the reasons you may want to work with me:
1. Experience: We have created over 100,000 beautiful portraits (in business since 1995)
2. Respected: over 2000 local photographers have learned photography from me (I also dedicate some of my time to improving the photographer community)
3. Full-time professionals with a retail studio: Quick turn-around! Professional, caring, passionate service!
4. We have a "Thrilled Guarantee" -Most photographers don't guarantee their work at all, not even a simple "satisfaction" guarantee!
